Luau: The Main Campfire: Friday Evening

The irony of having a Hawaiian luau while in Greece probably hadn't escaped anyone.  But given that the majority of the students probably couldn't pinpoint Hawaii on the map, it didn't seem like that was enough of a reason to cancel what had become a summer tradition.

So in the early evening, the main campfire was transformed into a party place with coconuts, grass skirts, and leis for everyone.  A pig was slowly roasting over the fire, and a huge moddable buffet spread out to the flagpole.

A dance floor was set up, and Hawaiian music was playing, but there was also plenty of grass spread with blankets for the less-rhythm-inclined.

[OOC:  YAAAAAY LUAU!  Students, teachers, and townies all welcome!]

"Yeah, I do," he said. "The beaches in Virginia are that great for surfing. Here? I haven't had a chance to get out and check yet."

"Yeah, I washed up on this beach," he said. "The waves were okay, not quite the size I prefer, you know. I like em big."

Johnny looked confused. "You washed up here? In Greece?"

Well, there was that bit with the whole being sent here by Van's mystical powers of Tresum, but the short of it was: "Yep."

He cocked his head at Johnny. "So you're from Virginia? And that's on the coast?" Geography wasn't his strong suit.

"Yeah, no. Fandom, this island, is situated off of Virginia. By the freaky nature of Fandom, we ended up here. In Greece. I'm from New York." Yeah, Johnny thought all the new kids showed up before the island shifted to Greece. He scratched his neck, apparently confused, that or he just wasn't remembering right.

Kevin actually showed up later than most, but still he was pretty sure islands didn't move. "So is this like some lame joke you're tying to play on me because I'm new man? Because I'm not that stupid," he said defensively.

Kevin was in for a world of 'wow'.

And Johnny just had to chuckle. "No way, dude. Ask anyone who's been here awhile."

"Whatever, man," Kevin replied, turned, and started to walk away.

"Dick," he muttered under his breath.

"Wait. What? Dude, I know you didn't just call me a dick." Because yeah, wrong thing to do.

Kevin rolled his eyes and turned back around. "Look, man. I'm sorry for calling you a dick, but I don't exactly appreciate your smug sense of humor." Because that's how he saw it.

"Okay, that's cool. Whatever, man. But you might be finding me to apologize after you've been here a more than a few days or whenever the hell you got here. But... whatever." It was Johnny who turned to walk away this time, shaking his head over the apparent lack of respect.

Kevin so would, but right now he just frowned and walked the other way, waiting till he was well out of earshot to say, "Dick."
