Luau: The Main Campfire: Friday Evening

The irony of having a Hawaiian luau while in Greece probably hadn't escaped anyone.  But given that the majority of the students probably couldn't pinpoint Hawaii on the map, it didn't seem like that was enough of a reason to cancel what had become a summer tradition.

So in the early evening, the main campfire was transformed into a party place with coconuts, grass skirts, and leis for everyone.  A pig was slowly roasting over the fire, and a huge moddable buffet spread out to the flagpole. 

A dance floor was set up, and Hawaiian music was playing, but there was also plenty of grass spread with blankets for the less-rhythm-inclined.

"She's my niece's roommate and dates one of my best friends," Luke said, grinning. "Of course I know Inara."

She smiled. "'Kay, so the planet she's from is right in the middle of our galaxy, an' I'm from the edge," she explained gesturing. "I don't rightly know exactly where, but I do know Sihnon's a core planet. Beylix, the moon I'm from, is on the rim."

Luke's grin got wider. "My home planet is in the Outer Rim of our galaxy, too. I used to say if there was a bright center to the universe, Tatooine was the planet it was furthest from. I'm still not sure I was wrong."

"Beylix ain't that bad," she giggled. "But I still don't rightly know how I ended up here. Or how I got such good luck."

"This place is pretty great," Luke admitted with a chuckle. "Where did you think you were going?"

"Well, we got a Earth at home, but we used 'er up," she said agreeably. "So I thought Earth-That-Was was gonna be a lot more...deserted."
