Luau: The Main Campfire: Friday Evening

The irony of having a Hawaiian luau while in Greece probably hadn't escaped anyone.  But given that the majority of the students probably couldn't pinpoint Hawaii on the map, it didn't seem like that was enough of a reason to cancel what had become a summer tradition.

So in the early evening, the main campfire was transformed into a party place with coconuts, grass skirts, and leis for everyone.  A pig was slowly roasting over the fire, and a huge moddable buffet spread out to the flagpole. 

A dance floor was set up, and Hawaiian music was playing, but there was also plenty of grass spread with blankets for the less-rhythm-inclined.

"You want some pineapple to go with that orange?" Lois asked, offering her plate to him.

He looked at his orange.

"It tastes of pineapple orange anyway," he admitted, "since I could smell yours. But thank you for the offer."

"Oh. Sorry about that," Lois said, not that it was her fault anyways. "Pineapple is a very powerful fruit."

"No need for apology. I can't ever get it to taste like just an orange. And I like pineapple besides."

Talking about fruit was sort of nice.

"As you should. Pineapple is awesome," Lois said, nodding. "I'm Lois by the way."

"Liir," he answered, reaching over to hold out a hand. It was clean.

"Relatively. I came this January," he explained. "So only one semester. You?"

"I've only been here for a week," Lois said. "So I'm really, really new."
