Luau: The Main Campfire: Friday Evening

The irony of having a Hawaiian luau while in Greece probably hadn't escaped anyone.  But given that the majority of the students probably couldn't pinpoint Hawaii on the map, it didn't seem like that was enough of a reason to cancel what had become a summer tradition.

So in the early evening, the main campfire was transformed into a party place with coconuts, grass skirts, and leis for everyone.  A pig was slowly roasting over the fire, and a huge moddable buffet spread out to the flagpole. 

A dance floor was set up, and Hawaiian music was playing, but there was also plenty of grass spread with blankets for the less-rhythm-inclined.

"I think it's mostly for eating, meeting new people, and dancing?" Luke said. "Do you dance?"

"I Do Not Eat And I Have Never Danced." She swivelled to look at the people dancing. "Is Dancing Compulsory?" It wasn't that she doubted River, but there could be different rules for luaus.

"I don't think anyone will get mad if you don't do it, no," Luke replied, "but it's fun."

"Why Is It Fun?" She turned back to look down at him, eyes flickering.

Luke had never stopped to think about why dancing would be fun. "I don't know," he finally admitted. "It just is? Want to try it?"

Gladys' eyes flared brightly. "Yes," she said. "I Would. What Do I Do?"

"We go over to the dance floor (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1774243.html?thread=110176931#t110176931) and move our feet in time to the music," Luke said, holding out his hand.

Very, very delicately, Gladys closed her huge hand around Luke's and followed him, moving surprisingly lightly for something her size.
