Luau: The Main Campfire: Friday Evening

The irony of having a Hawaiian luau while in Greece probably hadn't escaped anyone. But given that the majority of the students probably couldn't pinpoint Hawaii on the map, it didn't seem like that was enough of a reason to cancel what had become a summer tradition.

So in the early evening, the main campfire was transformed into a party place with coconuts, grass skirts, and leis for everyone. A pig was slowly roasting over the fire, and a huge ~~moddable~~ buffet spread out to the flagpole.

A dance floor was set up, and Hawaiian music was playing, but there was also plenty of grass spread with blankets for the less-rhythm-inclined.

Worf examined Luke carefully. "Hello," he said gruffly.

He paused a moment to think if there was some other social nicety he should add.

"How are you?" he said just as gruffly.

There. Politeness.

"I'm doing very well," Luke said, smiling wider. "Are you settling in all right?"

"Fine," Worf replied. Gruffly. "And you?"

"Oh, I've been hear for years," Luke said cheerfully. "No one related to me, or looking like anyone related to me came in this time, so I'm doing great."

"Is having relatives show up a security issue?" Worf asked.

"It depends on the family," Luke said with a laugh. "In mine? I think it depends on when they might be coming from." He shrugged. "Occasionally some of mine try to take over the galaxy, apparently."

Worf was now looking at Luke suspiciously. "Oh, really?"

"Not this galaxy," Luke said quickly.

Because that would help.

"I see," Worf replied. "And who would these people be?"

Yep. Totally suspicious.

"My family?" Luke tried.

"And other than you?" Worf said with persistence.

"Definitely other than me!" Luke babbled. "What would I do with a whole galaxy?"

"Who are your other family members?" Worf asked directly.

Luke's mouth set in a stubborn line. "People related to me."

"Fine," Worf said. "There are ways of finding the truth."

"And if you're thinking of going past the polite asking stage, I'd rethink that," Luke said, hackles going up.

"A simple inquiry into school records is all I require," Worf replied sharply. "Followed by observation. If you say that there is no threat then you have nothing to worry about."

"In that case, knock yourself out," Luke said. "Principal Washburn came to my father's wedding. She'll put you straight."

"And if that is the case then... again... you have nothing to worry about," Worf said continuing to survey the luau.
