Luau: The Main Campfire: Friday Evening

The irony of having a Hawaiian luau while in Greece probably hadn't escaped anyone.  But given that the majority of the students probably couldn't pinpoint Hawaii on the map, it didn't seem like that was enough of a reason to cancel what had become a summer tradition.

So in the early evening, the main campfire was transformed into a party place with coconuts, grass skirts, and leis for everyone.  A pig was slowly roasting over the fire, and a huge moddable buffet spread out to the flagpole. 

A dance floor was set up, and Hawaiian music was playing, but there was also plenty of grass spread with blankets for the less-rhythm-inclined.

"Or laugh so hard she chokes," Lee said. "I think my way is the more likely thing."

"Probably," John agreed. "You liking summer school in Fandom?"

"So far," Lee said, shrugging. "I got to shoot cows in one class and had to run like frakking hell in the other."

"Best school ever," Lee agreed with an emphatic nod. "Do you think you'll actually get to beat people up in the class where you just talked about it?"

"It's called Punching People and Not Breaking Your Hand: Fighting 101, so there's hope." John was kinda looking forward to it even. "Of course, I'd assume we'd also end up taking a punch or two unless we punch fake people in the danger shop.

"So funny," John fake laughed. "At least I'm making an attempt to be spirited." He was a cheerleader after all.

"How do you know I'm not?" Lee asked. "You a mystic?"

"What's a mystic?" John asked. "I'm going to assume it's not someone who carries pompoms."

"Mystic's some weird, religious person who chants and stuff," Lee said. "Can see the future and read minds and all that stuff."

"Yeah," Lee said and rolled his eyes. "You're thinking of socks. See how good I am?"
