Luau: The Main Campfire: Friday Evening
The irony of having a Hawaiian luau while in Greece probably hadn't escaped anyone. But given that the majority of the students probably couldn't pinpoint Hawaii on the map, it didn't seem like that was enough of a reason to cancel what had become a summer tradition.
So in the early evening, the main campfire was transformed into a party place with coconuts, grass skirts, and leis for everyone. A pig was slowly roasting over the fire, and a hugemoddable buffet spread out to the flagpole.
A dance floor was set up, and Hawaiian music was playing, but there was also plenty of grass spread with blankets for the less-rhythm-inclined.
[OOC: YAAAAAY LUAU! Students, teachers, and townies all welcome!]

"Do you dance, Cal?"
Re: Food Tables
"No, not really."
Re: Food Tables
"Would you dance with me if I asked you?"
Re: Food Tables
What made it worse was that he had no idea how to answer that. Of course he'd want to, on a certain level, but the reasons why he didn't were much more plentiful and convincing. Odd were, she'd only ask because he was just a nice guy, but that wasn't true and if she knew otherwise she probably wouldn't ask. She probably wouldn't even talk to him and would hate the fact that she ever even did in the first place...
"Your poor feet if I did," was all he managed to come up with.
Re: Food Tables
She looked down when he answered and shrugged a shoulder, trying to play it off. "It's okay. I often just dance by myself anyway," Amber said quietly.
Re: Food Tables
...More awkward, anyway.
"You must be pretty good at it by now, then," he offered.

Re: Food Tables
"It can't be the only thing you're good at," he also added.
Re: Food Tables
"Well," she mused, twisting her lei around her neck. "I used to work in a morgue so I can paint the dead to look happy and healthy, just appearin' to be asleep."
Re: Food Tables
"You used to work in a morgue?"
Re: Food Tables
...and that didn't make much sense, but Amber clearly didn't get that.

"Pretty clever," he complimented with a light grin.
