Luau: The Main Campfire: Friday Evening

The irony of having a Hawaiian luau while in Greece probably hadn't escaped anyone.  But given that the majority of the students probably couldn't pinpoint Hawaii on the map, it didn't seem like that was enough of a reason to cancel what had become a summer tradition.

So in the early evening, the main campfire was transformed into a party place with coconuts, grass skirts, and leis for everyone.  A pig was slowly roasting over the fire, and a huge moddable buffet spread out to the flagpole.

A dance floor was set up, and Hawaiian music was playing, but there was also plenty of grass spread with blankets for the less-rhythm-inclined.

[OOC:  YAAAAAY LUAU!  Students, teachers, and townies all welcome!]

That got her a thumbs-up. "Is that a record?"

Turtle considered her massive marshmallow stick. "I...do not know," she admitted, tilting her head at it thoughtfully. "But, if it isn't, it's got to be close, I mean, look at it!"

"The REAL question, of course, is can you eat all those before they melt and fall off the stick?"

"It shouldn't be a problem," Turtle explained, "if they're roasted right. And, well, since I do everything right, you tell me."

"You do everything right?" Sokka asked, incredulously. "Are you some kind of robot?"

Turtle rolled her eyes. "Yes, Sokka. I'm a robot. You figured it out. Good job."

"Well, then, you're not perfect." Sokka crossed his arms in satisfaction, his point proven.

"Maybe I wanted you to figure it out," Turtle countered as she carefully watched to make sure that top most marshmallow didn't catch fire like it did last time. "It was a test, you see?"

"To see whether I've have the guts to say, 'No, boss, you're wrong'? Or did you just think I was stupid?"

Well...

Turtle wouldn't answer that. "Well, I had Jamie just about practically questioning my business tactics last night, so I wouldn't be too surprised. Although I would start feeling worried that you guys were going to start a union against me..."

There was a slight pause.

"You guys wouldn't do that, right? I'm a good boss, aren't I?"

"You're a GREAT boss," Sokka reassured her. "The best!"

Of course, he was grinning evilly. "Gimme a raise, and I won't join a union."

"I'll give you a raise," Turtle said firmly, "pending on your end of the session evaluation, which I'll be doing soon. Although that's not entirely in my hands because G'Kar gets a say in that sort of thing now, too."

"Well, I'll wait until at least then before I consider unionizing, then," Sokka replied, with a hint of a smile.

Turtle nodded a little, pulling out her marshmallows to check on them a bit before commenting, lightly, casually, offhandedly, "I'm sure that neither of us have anything to worry about, though."
