Luau: The Main Campfire: Friday Evening

The irony of having a Hawaiian luau while in Greece probably hadn't escaped anyone.  But given that the majority of the students probably couldn't pinpoint Hawaii on the map, it didn't seem like that was enough of a reason to cancel what had become a summer tradition.

So in the early evening, the main campfire was transformed into a party place with coconuts, grass skirts, and leis for everyone.  A pig was slowly roasting over the fire, and a huge moddable buffet spread out to the flagpole. 

A dance floor was set up, and Hawaiian music was playing, but there was also plenty of grass spread with blankets for the less-rhythm-inclined.

Toby loved Luaus. He thought his Hawaiian-print shorts were very festive with a nice pink and orange lei draped across his bronzed chest, glistening with just the slightest hint of sweat from being too near the fire.

Ella gave Toby a curious look. "Excuse me, where did you find those?"

She was pointing at the leis. Not his pecs.

"Oh, I just grabbed them off a table. Was that wrong?" Toby just wanted something pretty and party-like for the evening, and the leis looked so nice with his shorts. Really.

"I don't think so," Ella said. "I just thought it was pretty, that's all. Which table?"

"Oh, good!" Relieved, Toby pointed a long, muscular arm to where he'd found them. "You should get one, they smell really nice."

"I'll do that," Ella promised, with a goofy grin, and took off toward the flowers.
