Arts & Crafts, Monday [5-12], Period 2

As the campers arrived in the art room, they would find a tall, athletic blond man in a polo shirt and khakis presiding over work stations covered with crafting supplies.

"Good afternoon, everyone," Steve began. "I'm Mr. Rogers--no, not that Mr. Rogers, the other Mr. Rogers--and I'll be in charge of this workshop. We're going to have a lot of fun. Or else." He smiled to show he was joking.

"So, to get started, this week we're going to introduce ourselves, since I'm sure there are some new people here, and then we're going to make gremlins." Unlike last year, Steve knew better now. He just thought the horrified twitching this comment engendered among his students was kind of funny. They weren't real gremlins, after all. "All the necessary supplies and instruction sheets are already on the table, so after introductions you can just get to it. You can work together if you want to, but please remember the glue and paint are for your projects, not each other. I'll be right over here if you need any help or have any questions."

"I'll start us off," said Steve. "I'm Steve Rogers, I'm from New York, and I teach art. Obviously. And I used to be in the army." He pointed to a student at random. "What about you?"

"I'm Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, or better known as just Torch. Anyway, I'm from New York and an upcoming senior. I took this class last summer and it's pretty cool, so here I am again." And he wasn't just saying that cause his girlfriend was in the class. Seriously.

"I'm Alex Russo and I'm an upcoming sophomore. I'm from New York, and I thought this class looked like fun, so here I am," Alex smiled warmly.

"My name is Hoshi Sato, and I'm from Kyoto, Japan," she said. "I've been studying exo-linguistics with a private tutor since since age three, so I'm taking this class to catch up on all the art classes I missed as a kid."

"Harry Dresden, most recently from a little town in Missouri, I'll be a senior and I'm a wizard." Harry liked being able to say that and not have people think he was nuts.

"My name is Anemone, I'm now a junior, and I'm one of the far-future people," she said, practically bouncing. "I'm still in the military, but I'm currently on leave to attend school. My favorite subject is flight, but art comes pretty close."

In lieu of sand, glitter of various colors has been provided for lining your jars. Somehow, Steve was still oblivious to the meaning of this.

Johnny was no longer afraid of glitter. He just wasn't. He poured red and gold glitter in his jar before he started working on making his gremlin.

Yes, Alex was going to have fun with this. She picked blue and gold glitter and set to work on her gremlin. She was enjoying this class, all ready.

Hoshi figured a gremlin would make a nice gift to send home to her mother. If it came to life and bit Mama, that would just be an extra bonus. She started out by filling her jar with ivory-colored glitter that sort of resembled the snow-capped mountains that surrounded Kyoto.

Nobody ever told Harry about glitter. He was oblivious to the dangers of arts and crafts as he worked on his gremlin.

Dick worked on a red gremlin. If he had time - which he didn't think was likely - he would also make an AMC Gremlin.

Deidara's gremlin was made of clay, in a jar full of red glitter. It was just a disaster waiting to happen.
