"Today's the final. The one. The only. The-- well, you get my drift."

In the middle of the Badlands sim, Kerrigan leaned her weight onto one hip. "Three scenarios. And a question: what's the essence of tactics in action? If any of you gives me the Booth-- 'don't die'- you're outta here. I let it pass once, it's not happening again. To a point, there's no right or wrong answers, otherwise... unless you're a complete dumbass who hasn't been paying attention."

And-- yep, she was smirking. "Finally, there's a shot for extra credit. You want an A really damn badly?" Her expression was positively deadly. "You may have heard of a certain pixie. I'm pretty sure she's somehow involved in this whole caffeine scenario, so I figured a little payback is in order. You steal me a few bottles of her alcohol in retaliation before Tuesday, I'll give you your A."

Okay, so maybe, that had been the absolute first exam-related matter she'd come up with. She needed coffee to plan these things. "But just the booze. If I hear of any of you pranking her, you're out of here. That's dangerous behaviour."

Because stealing from a pixie totally wasn't.

There was a long, long pause.

"I'm, uh, joking." She really didn't sound like she was. "Good luck. And goodbye."

Sky was shocked- shocked! at the suggestion of stealing booze for a grade. The idea of running naked through town for an A was bad enough, but theft? He'd have to arrest himself for doing such a thing.

Supply Lines

Three SCVs, no weapons, and an endless supply of bad guys up until the command center-- one SCV suit was yours. "Get at least one of them to the command center in time to succeed," Kerrigan spoke. She looked only slightly bored about the whole situation. Supplies wasn't really her thing.

"You two in front of me," Sokka ordered. "We're going to swing wide to the right and come into base from the back side. Keep your eyes peeled, stay tight, and stick to cover. I've got your back. Roll out!"

The sim recalibrates, and now... "It's just you, your armor, your rifle, and... the enemy's three SCVs. Take them all out before they reach their command center."

Sokka hid behind a rock, took careful aim at the first SCV's faceplate, and fired.

"Not everything is what it seems." And with that, the base becomes filled to the brim with pandemonium as marines and SCV race around trying to keep an incoming flock of flying creepy crawlies at bay. It seems like there's no end to it... except that one creature amongst the many is what controls them all.

Bridge spends a few minutes upside-down in a handstand as he thinks over the question. Finally, he flips back upright and sits down at his desk.

*Outsmarting* your opponent. Even though you may be in a situation where you're outnumbered and outgunned, the right plan can still earn a victory.

Triela's answer came easily. Tactics is the means by which you maintain control of a battle. Acting and forcing your opponent to react, and never the reverse.

Sky approached Kerrigan after class, saluting her. He wasn't sure if he'd see her again, and wanted to say goodbye.

Okay, here's the rub-- if you're going to attempt the oh-so-not-really-joking extra credit, there'll be a Kerrigan house post up on Tuesday to drop off the goods (and she will totally give you an A). But. You have to contact tinkerbitch to discuss the details (handwavey or actual post, if it would be possible, any damage done by Tink in retaliation, etc) up front. Anyone tries to pull this off without her approval, it's not going to count. Play nice!

And now that the nasty stuff is done and written over with... bye, guys! It's been a Star-tastic two terms, including the times I've been deader'n Kerrigan, and thanks to everyone who played!

Question -- for scenario 1: Are we one of the three SCVs? Or are we a gunless marine or some other sort of fourth unit?

Also, for scenario 3: What sort of clues do we have that one of the units is commanding the others?

This has been one of my favorite classes. :) Especially when Kerrigan and Harriet collaborated- it was a hoot to play lion!Sky.
