"Today's the final. The one. The only. The-- well, you get my drift."

In the middle of the Badlands sim, Kerrigan leaned her weight onto one hip. "Three scenarios. And a question: what's the essence of tactics in action? If any of you gives me the Booth-- 'don't die'- you're outta here. I let it pass once, it's not happening again. To a point, there's no right or wrong answers, otherwise... unless you're a complete dumbass who hasn't been paying attention."

And-- yep, she was smirking. "Finally, there's a shot for extra credit. You want an A really damn badly?" Her expression was positively deadly. "You may have heard of a certain pixie. I'm pretty sure she's somehow involved in this whole caffeine scenario, so I figured a little payback is in order. You steal me a few bottles of her alcohol in retaliation before Tuesday, I'll give you your A."

Okay, so maybe, that had been the absolute first exam-related matter she'd come up with. She needed coffee to plan these things. "But just the booze. If I hear of any of you pranking her, you're out of here. That's dangerous behaviour."

Because stealing from a pixie totally wasn't.

There was a long, long pause.

"I'm, uh, joking." She really didn't sound like she was. "Good luck. And goodbye."

Sky blinked a few times, then nodded. "Oh, that explains... I see now. I probably should have guessed it sooner." His smile widened. "...I'm really going to miss Fandom when I leave, but I know I'm going to be making my world a better place, too."

"That makes two of us," Kerrigan said, and carefully hid any relief at the... relatively decent reaction to that one. "It's a good job. Shitty, but good."

"It really is," Sky agreed. "I can't know what my future's going to be like exactly, but I can tell it's going to be very rewarding. Or at least, I hope it will be... and being a part of that is all I could ask for out of life."

Something like a smile pulled on her lips. "Glad to hear it, Tate," Kerrigan said, "Make things safe. It's the only way a good soldier can be."

Well, that, and not getting strung up in their own emo and giving her a headache.

And not agreeing to wear a banana suit may have helped him, too, in retrospect. He would never live that down.

"I will. Goodbye, Lt. Kerrigan." He saluted her again. "And good luck to you, whether you stay at Fandom or leave here someday."

"I'm leaving."

She was surprised at the fact she felt a little emotional at the salute she gave him in return.

"I have a war of my own to fight."

He could certainly understand that... a war with Emperor Gruumm was what awaited him back home, after all.

"Well, again, good luck with that. You've been a great teacher to all of us."

"Not really," she said, wryly, "But I tried the best I could. At least nobody's answered me 'don't die' on anything this go-around."

Sky chuckled.

"And I think you did a great job. I would have told you 'don't die', but I think that's a given hope anywhere you go."

"You'd think," Kerrigan snorted.
