With finals approaching, Sam was looking forward to the possibility of having more company in the library than his usual visitors.

Then he opened the doors and found the library full of tiny sheep.

This was not how he wanted his week to begin.

"Yes, it's horrible that we missed the rampaging animals that could have eaten us alive," Sam deadpanned.

"Okay, maybe that part was fine, except for the part where we, who are so well-trained in observing the fine points of crazy that we fight it, missed huge bears with lasers." She scowled. "We so flunk."

"I've been thinking of it more as a break," Sam said. "Like, we could have spent the day avoiding lasers, and instead, we got to relax and let everyone else who's just as qualified as us handle them."

"See, now you're being logical," she said, followed by more pouting. Not that it distracted her from trying to make a tiny sheep corral out of pencils, but whatever. "I loved the break, and hanging on the beach like I was a real person again, but bears, Sam."

"Okay smart girl, what would you have done if we'd run into the bears?" Sam asked.

Dawn's only experiences with bears had been the Thanksgiving Buffy and the gang had made them. "Um, apologized to their ancestors and restored the ancient burial ground? Or give them a pot of honey."

"So, basically, you would have made yourself bear bait," Sam replied. "I'm pretty sure the bears who like honey wouldn't be running around with lasers."

"Hey," she picked up a sheep and used it to poke at Sam, "You never know. Homicidal crazy sci-fialicious bears gotta eat, too."

Sam bopped the little sheep on the nose and laughed. "Yeah, they'd be eating you. No taunting bears, ever."

Dawn sighed and rolled her eyes dramatically. "Fine. No getting eaten by bears. Spoilsport."
