Library [04/03]

Bridge wanders in to the library, a little bit early, as usual. Also possibly looking slightly less energetic than usual. Though it's Bridge, so "slightly less energetic" for him is really about equal to "energetic" for almost anyone else.

[ooc: and the dragging off has occurred. Probably won't be back till pretty late, if at all]

"You okay?" Chris asks, concerned that Bridge isn't quite his normal, cheerful self.

"Just tired," Bridge explains. "Couldn't get to sleep last night," he makes a face.

Chris raises an eyebrow. "In a good way or a bad way?"

"...Bad way." Bridge says, turning a bit red at the implications of what 'a good way' would mean.

"Do I need to hurt someone?" Chris asks, flushing at his own implications as well.

"Nah," Bridge grins. "Thanks for the offer, though."

Chris grins back. "Anytime, dude. So were you a little kid this weekend?"

"Yeah," the grin gets even wider. "I was five. Or as little-me kept insisting, 'a whole hand'."

"I was six," Chris chuckles. "Though I kept reminding everyone I was almost seven."

"Well, we couldn't have anyone mistaking us for *babies* or anything," Bridge says. "So of course we had to remind everyone just how grown up we are."

"Exactly," Chris agrees, still clearly amused. "You know what's funny though? Wyatt was still a teenager and six year old me thought that was totally normal."

"Yeah," Bridge nods. "Same here. I totally didn't think there was anything strange about Anders and Xander being so much older than me."

Chris nods. "Yeah, Summer was older too. And I think my six year old self had a huge crush on her."

Notice, he doesn't say anything about how his sixteen year old self feels.

Bridge raises an eyebrow at that, because he's done this 'turned in to a kid' thing before, so he's pretty aware of how feelings when one was all small relate to the way one feels normally.

"Just your six year old self?" he asks.

"She's my roommate and one of my best friends," Chris says, totally not answering the question.

"And I don't think your six year old self developed a crush on her out of nowhere," Bridge points out gently.

Chris shrugs. "It's stupid. She doesn't feel the same way and we have to live together."

"You asked her?"

"No!" Chris says, his expression horrified at the thought. "It would just make things really awkward. Besides, she and Shawn broke up less than a week ago."

"Oh," Bridge says. "Yeah, that... that complicates things," he admits. "But, I mean, still. For all you know, she might feel the same way." Personally, he happens to think the two of them would be cute together.

Chris shrugs. "I'm not going to say anything right now. I don't even know how I really feel at this point."

"But you feel *something* more than just roommates and best friends," Bridge says.

"Maybe?" Chris says. "I don't know."

He's not sure if Bridge is *telling* him something that he's picking up or not and he's not sure if he wants to know which it is.

Bridge can see that pressing Chris about this too much is just going to make him uncomfortable, so he makes a little mental note to maybe talk to Wyatt about this whole Chris and Summer thing.

"So, uh, class this morning was kind of different, huh?" he says, because segues are not his strong point.

Chris nods. "Yeah, it was certainly different."
