Library [04/03]

Bridge wanders in to the library, a little bit early, as usual. Also possibly looking slightly less energetic than usual. Though it's Bridge, so "slightly less energetic" for him is really about equal to "energetic" for almost anyone else.

[ooc: and the dragging off has occurred. Probably won't be back till pretty late, if at all]

Bridge can see that pressing Chris about this too much is just going to make him uncomfortable, so he makes a little mental note to maybe talk to Wyatt about this whole Chris and Summer thing.

"So, uh, class this morning was kind of different, huh?" he says, because segues are not his strong point.

Chris nods. "Yeah, it was certainly different."

"I kind of had an unfair advantage, I guess," Bridge admits.

"Eh, most people around here have some kind of advantage," Chris points out.

"Okay, yeah, good point," Bridge admits, still not *entirely* used to that, even after nearly three years.

"I mean, I guess I can understand when we do assignments and the teachers don't let us use them," Chris says. "Because in the real world, we may have to hide who we are sometimes. At least in my world."

"Power Rangers used to," Bridge says. "Have the whole secret identities thing going on, I mean. Not so much anymore, but... humans *born* with powers, that's another thing entirely."

Chris nods. "The whole reason my parents had to fake their deaths was because of fear of exposure."

"I never really had a chance to hide what I am," Bridge admits. "Kinda stuck out, and all."

"Yeah, I can imagine," Chris says. "It must be hard."

"People aren't big fans of mutants," Bridge says. "Aliens, sure. Humans with technology that gives them superpowers, also good. Humans being born with powers? Too weird for most people to handle."

"Genetic evolution is scary to a lot of people," Chris says. "And people who don't end up with abilities wonder why they don't measure up."

"Yeah," Bridge says with a shrug. Of course, in his case it's not so much evolution as manipulation, but he's not too keen on being free with that information.

"I was pretty content living my normal life," Chris admits.

"Would you go back, to being normal?" Bridge asks curiously. "Or thinking you were normal, I guess, technically."

"Knowing what I know now?" Chris says. "No, I don't think I could. As for going through life having no knowlege of magic or anything..." he pauses. "In some ways, I'd like to say yes. But then I never would have come here and met any of you."

"Well, I for one am glad you ended up here," Bridge says with a nod.

Chris smiles. "So am I."
