Today the desks in Anakin's classroom had been pushed along the walls and replaced with cushy pillows and blankets.

"Today we talk about sloth," Anakin said, holding himself even more carefully and clearly uncomfortable with the very idea of relaxing. The students were certainly not expected to be held to the same standard.

"Originally, sloth was described as 'an uneasiness of the mind'," Anakin continued. "Apathy. Melancholy. Joylessness. And importantly, the decision not to do anything about it."

He shrugged. "The modern view understands that the mind is slightly more complicated than that and sometimes it is impossible to will yourself not to be sad. Instead, this sin focuses on the failure to utilize your talents and gifts."

He made eye contact with each student. "In a place filled with as many talented people as this one, I can view it as almost criminal to not live up to the potential each of you has. Today, pair up and talk about what your plans for the summer are, and how what you will be doing will be helping you in what you might think of as your greater destiny."

He waved at the blankets. "Or embrace your inner sloth and take a nap. Being tiny this weekend can be tiring."

Reno eyed the blankets and pillows for a moment, then finally shrugged his shoulders. To hell with it. They were there, it'd be a shame to let them go to waste.

He'd talk if someone had something to say, of course. Unless he dozed off by then.

Romeo needed to talk to Reno, but somehow class, even ethics class, did not seem like the place.

He contented himself with a note dropped on the redhead's desk.

He did not write in the note that he was acting on Rikku's suggestion. That seemed ... unhelpful, somehow.

Amber took advantage of the cushy pillows and blankets. They looked way too comfortable to ignore.

Anemone grabbed a blanket and settled down on the floor, looking for someone to talk to. Her destiny was over and done with, so she didn't really have any plans.

Rikku took a few pillows and sat down next to Anemone. "Hi," she said. "Um. Greater ... destiny and all that?"

She ... kinda thought hers was done, too, was all.

"My destiny came and went," Anemone replied, one hand reaching up automatically to touch her collar. "For my reward, I get high school. How about you?"

Rikku blinked at the collar. "Came and ... uh. Did you ... do it? Whatever you were supposed to do? And why did they send you here?"

She hugged a pillow to her stomach. "I helped save the world, two years ago. I'm not sure ... what I'm supposed to do now. What if that was my destiny? I had a legendary weapon and all that."

Anemone dropped her hand quickly and shook her head. "Depends on who you ask. I was created to destroy the world, but I didn't complete my mission. I went over to the enemy, and ended up helping save it instead. Now, they don't know what to do with me."

"Sometimes, maybe, destiny can't wait until you're an adult, it has to happen right now, or everything will fall apart," she said quietly. "I'm not sure where that leaves us. We save the world, then what? Go find 'normal' lives? I don't think it works like that."

Savannah shrugged. "I have plans to spend the summer learning how to use the darker powers of my father's side of the family."

"How fantastic for you," Anakin said.

His head hadn't actually exploded. He was unnaturally proud of that. "You'll be explaining why to me after class."

Savannah looked confused, but nodded slightly.

In her head she was already explaining things to Benecio.

I managed to anger the Ethics teacher by being honest and telling him about learning the darker powers...

Wouldn't that be a fun conversation.

Like Adah was going to turn down a chance to just lie down for a bit. She would say 'comfortably,' but that would have to wait and be determined by how cooperative her body was going to decide to be today.

Lana sat quietly. She was more than willing to talk to anyone and she certainly wasn't about to take a nap in class.

"I ended up making drawings of everything I did over the weekend before I went to bed Sunday night," said Hoshi. "I'm sort of glad I did, because I wouldn't have believed it all when I woke up the next morning."

Wyatt settled beside Summer. "I plan on spending my summer vacation relaxing, enjoying life, and snuggling with my girlfriend," he said. "This will help my destiny by letting me build my strength before I have to face college. How about you?"

"I think I approve of those plans," Summer smirked, peering over at him. "I'm probably just gonna hang out here and maybe visit my dad in Seattle. That's about all the plans I've got so far."

Teyla hadn't given much thought to the summer, but she was willing to talk to anyone else about their plans.

Harry hadn't given the summer much thought. He figured he had two options. He could hang out here, or go back to the farm. Well, he could also get decapitated but he preferred not to think about such things.
