Library; Wednesday [ 03/26 ]

Adah knew full well that today, she may have to be dealing with the aftermath of whatever had occurred as a result of her missing rabbit disappearing somewhere in the library. What she didn't know, however, was how, although, as she limped in and got herself settled for shift, she hoped that, whatever it was, it didn't distract her from her reading too much.

Adah met the Eel's intrigue with a similarly conniving expression. "Hmmm, well," she said, "it involves a reward of a kiss, a good one, for a good hair toss and the possible cessation of any further kisses until there is a hair toss."

"You're taking this bribe really seriously," he said and frowned. "If I don't do a hair toss, I don't get kisses anymore?"

"That's right," Adah lifted her chin. "And you know how insufferably stubborn I am."

"That would be detrimental to the both of us," Lee pointed out.

There was a slight, considering narrow of Adah's eyes at that, because he certainly did have a point there. "I'm not above sacrifice," she said, finally, "for the sake of something this important."

"Me tossing my hair is more important than us being able to kiss whenever we want to?" Lee asked.

Adah's eyes shifted to the side for a moment.

"Yes?"

"You don't sound so sure about that," he said, grinning slightly.

Adah narrowed her eyes at the Eel for a moment before letting out a deep huff of a sigh. "Okay, fine. You got me there. But, so help me, if I don't get a hair toss, I'm just going to have to make up for it with copious occasions of hair mussing, which is almost as good."

"I didn't know you liked mussing my hair," he said, teasing again.

"Well, it's so awesome," Adah deadpanned with another steady, slightly hard look. "How could I not?"

"Then, you should that," he said, nodding and leaning closer. "I don't want to toss my hair."

Adah arched an eyebrow; she shifted so that she wasn't leaning on her hand anymore, thus freeing it, but she held off on the mussing of hair.

"A compromise, then?"

"Compromise," he agreed, ducking his head some more.

Adah slipped the Eel a small, wry grin, but finally caved in, drifting her hand to her head and lightly starting to run her fingers through his hair.

"I usually don't like compromises," she said quietly, "but I think I can handle this one."

"I like this one too," he said, nodding and sighing. "And we can keep kissing."

"Yes, that does sort of soften the blow of compromise a bit," Adah mused softly, especially since all it would do to take advantage of such a benefit was duck her head in the safer direction, move forward just a smidgen, and take that kiss, which she was presently doing, eyes light shut to matc her lightly pressing lips.

Lee responded quickly, lightly, smiling against her lips and pressing against her hand.
