Library; Wednesday [ 03/26 ]

Adah knew full well that today, she may have to be dealing with the aftermath of whatever had occurred as a result of her missing rabbit disappearing somewhere in the library. What she didn't know, however, was how, although, as she limped in and got herself settled for shift, she hoped that, whatever it was, it didn't distract her from her reading too much.

Adah cleared off an area of the desk, making it free of books and nicely Edgar-sized, and patted the surface with her hand, to indicate that Karal should just set her there for now; in a moment, after he'd left, he'd get the carrying sling from her bag and take it from there, but, at the moment, she wasn't exactly able to take her directly.

As for the question, technically speaking, he already had, and there was nothing stopping him from asking, exactly, now, was there? So it was a waste of a question if you got right down to it. She considered just being a pest and shaking her head no just to see how Karal would react, but she imagined a stammered apology and taking his leave, which would just leave her itching with curiosity over what she'd missed. She looked at him, then, and tilted her head, waiting for the question.

"Why Edgar?" he asked as he set her down, carefully untangling his hair from her determined grip. When she went to grab it again, he wiggled his fingers in front of her face and she latched onto those instead. "It seems an unusual choice for a girl's name."

Adah smiled; it was a good question. Of course, she'd have expected a good question from Karal, for the most part, and, by way of answer, while she still could since the droid's attention was still on her fake father, she slid her notebook on the desk close enough to write something down, and then carefully tore the section of page where she'd scribbled out from the notebook.

It consisted of very specific directions to a certain shelf in the library, right down to how many shelves up from the bottom and approximately how many books over to the beginning of the section of Edgar Allen Poe's work. She figured, if Karal really wanted to know, he'd be better off finding out himself rather than having her just telling him, handing the directions over with a smirk.

He accepted them, even more curious now, and with another finger wriggle freed himself from Edgar's grasp, then went to find his answer, very impressed with the specificity of the direction.
