Today the Danger Shop was configured to look like a shore.

And on that shore, there was an elephant.

And next to that elephant was a teacher holding a series of handouts.

"Today, we're teaching yoga to an elephant," he said, pointing at the elephant. "Well, you are. I've already done that."

No he hadn't.

"Read the handouts, practice a few of the movements--if you manage to squeeze yourself into a wine jug, make sure to oil yourself up well because I'm not breaking you back out--and then take turns trying to teach Vana here some yoga."

The elephant looked in no way interested in being taught.

He clung on pretty tightly, tried to respond, but found himself rather choked up.

Karal just held him, with no intention of letting go any time soon. "It's all right," he said soothingly. "It's all right, Andrew. You're home, you're safe."

Andrew nodded, his face pressed into Karal's shoulder. "It's really good to see you," he finally managed. "Really, really good."

"To see you, as well. When I got your letter, I, well, it was good that you sounded so cheerful, but I was worried." Karal hugged him a little tighter. "Deeply worried."

"I kept hoping that you would be okay," he said. "I knew you would take care of Liir if anything, you know, happened."

"Of course I would," Karal assured him. "He's my little brother, I'm responsible for him. But we would have found a way to get you back. We would not have stopped trying."

That earned Karal a tighter squeeze. "I was trying to get back, too," he said. "I knew it was possible. It was just a matter of finding the best way."

He wouldn't be telling Karal the exact avenue he had been planning to take.

"Thankfully, it wasn't necessary. They found a way and you came home." Karal pulled back a little so he could smile at Andrew. "Where did you go? How long were you gone?" He frowned slightly. "Are you thinner?"

Andrew was significantly thinner. Unpasteurized French food had not agreed with him at all.

"I was in Paris, 1899. I was there for about nine weeks." Nine very long weeks. "I knew enough French to get by, so it wasn't that horrible. And yeah, I think I might have dropped a few pounds."

"Glory," he breathed. "Nine weeks? And you are much thinner," he added, stepping back to study Andrew. "Have you seen a healer? Just to be sure you are all right?"

"I'm fine," he said sheepishly. "I just didn't eat that much while I was there." He tugged uncomfortably at the front of his shirt.

"Besides, Liir is on a personal crusade to fatten me back up."

Karal had to smile at that. "If anyone can do so quickly, it will be him." His smile faded slightly as he looked at Andrew intently. "How are you here?" Karal asked, touching his temple and then his heart. "And here."

"I'm in love, and I'm worried," he said with a shrug. He looked about the classroom. "Things just keep happening, you know? And it's like I'm helpless."

"I know," he replied quietly. "This place, things keep happening here, that we have no way to control, but," he chewed his lip thoughtfully, "the good and the bad seem to come in equal measure." Karal smiled ruefully. "Which is likely not even a small comfort."

"I'm not a fan of balanced scales," Andrew said thoughtfully. "At least not in this instance. I need much more of the good with just a touch of bad thrown in to remind me how awesome the good is.

"Like you. You always remind me how lucky I am."

Karal went pink. "Well, the same is true of you for me," he said warmly. "And speaking of things that are good, how is Liir? I imagine he was very pleased to see you back. He was very distressed last time I spoke with him." Not that Karal was going to mention what had happened, but he couldn't help but be concerned.

"He's good. Extra clingy, but I like him that way," Andrew replied, grinning.

"We all need to hang out again soon. Maybe do another movie night or something."

"A bit of extra clinging sounds nice, with everything that's happened. I know I've been hanging onto Evey a great deal." Karal smiled at the sugestion. "And I'd like that, if we could."

"Let's make it happen," Andrew said.

"I should probably, you know, get going. Let you do your TA thing."

He moved in for one last quick hug.

Karal hugged him. "If he makes me clean up after the elephant, I'm quitting," he said with a chuckle. "You'll come and find me if you need me?"

"Of course," Andrew said with a smile as he moved away. "And you do the same."
