After everything that happened last week, Sam wanted nothing more than for things to go back to being normal and quiet. He still felt a little tired, but that didn't stop him from heading to the library for his shift. If it weren't for the fact that Dean insisted on coming with him, this could have looked like any other Monday.

Peter mulled that over. "Okay, deal. But only if it works in reverse too. You can't go without me."

"I don't intend to end up in the past again, so that sounds like a fair deal to me."

"Future either," Peter said. "Just putting that out on the table."

"Can I go in the future at the regular pace?" Sam asked. "It would be kind of nice to have you around for that with me too."

"I dunno," Peter said, teasing. "I'm not as interesting as a stack of books."

"This is true, but I like having you around anyway," Sam deadpanned.

"I'm taking the donuts back."

Sam pouted and made a grab for the donuts. "No, I take it back. You're totally better than books!"

"Better," Peter said, grinning at him. "Much better."

"You're much better than books," Sam corrected.

Peter laughed. "I meant your reply was better, but your way works too."

Sam laughed as well, before looking a little more serious. "I'm sorry if I worried you. I didn't mean to end up in any trouble with the angels."

"I suppose I can forgive you," Peter said. "I'm just glad you're back."

"I'm glad I'm back too," Sam said. "Thank you for trying to make sure I was okay."
