Library [03/17]

After everything that happened last week, Sam wanted nothing more than for things to go back to being normal and quiet. He still felt a little tired, but that didn't stop him from heading to the library for his shift. If it weren't for the fact that Dean insisted on coming with him, this could have looked like any other Monday.

Sam got quiet for another long moment. "Are you going to go to class? I don't want you to miss anything important."

"Deadpool was one of the missing too," Dean said. "I doubt we're going to be doing anything important in class."

"You should still go, so you don't get into trouble."

"No," Dean said.

"Dean..." Sam started, looking like he was on the verge of breaking out the puppy eyes.

"Sammy, you can puppy eye me all you want," Dean said. "I... need to be here today, okay?"

Sam was quiet before he finally gave in, visibly caving to Dean. "Fine, you can stay. Just don't bug the librarian if he shows up. And don't bug anyone who comes to try to study."

"I'm not a two year old," Dean stated. He paused. "Can I bug you?"

"If I say no, will that stop you?" Sam asked.

"Probably not," Dean admitted. "I've got over half a week to make up for."

"I'm saying no anyway."

"Good for you," Dean told him with only a little smirk.

"If you cause too much of a disruption, I can have you recommended for detention," Sam warned. That might not have been true, but he was close to certain.

"Dude, you'd think you hated me hanging around or something."

"I just feel like I'm taking up your time," Sam said. "I don't want to be a burden to you again."

Dean stared at him. "Okay, what do you mean by 'burden' and what do you mean by 'again'?"

"By burden, I mean you giving up everything you normally do to focus on taking care of me, which you have this terrible habit of doing every time I've gotten into trouble," Sam said.

"Taking care of you is what I normally do," Dean pointed out.

"But you don't normally waste your entire day sitting with me in the library," Sam replied.

"Hanging with you isn't wasting my day." He paused. "Do you think spending time with me is wasting your day?"

"It would be if we were doing something I had no interest in, like you hanging out in a library."

"See, that's the difference between us then," Dean said. "Because spending time with you is never a waste for me."

"You really don't have anything you'd rather be doing than sitting and watching me check in books?" Sam asked.

"Today? Nope."

"Are you going to do this every week?" Sam asked. "I'm not going to be responsible for you flunking your class."
