Driver's Ed [Wednesday, Period Four]

The Danger Shop was set up to look like the outside parking lot of a high class European casino at night. There were a number of identical, sleek, gray cars parked near Bond.

"This is the Aston Martin DBS," he began, after the class, with the notable exception of the TA, had assembled, gesturing towards the nearest of the cars. "Handles well, with an excellent turn of speed. You'll be using them in your mid-term today.

"Now, shortly, a car will be passing through that road there, at very high speed, there will be a series of such cars at various intervals. Your task will be to take it in turn to follow a car, as closely as you're able, until the end of the sim. After you've finished the sim, you're free to go."

At that moment, a car came screeching down the road Bond had previously indicated.

"So, who's first?"

When the car flipped several times (not enough to break a world record though) and finally came to a stop, Sulley let out a slow breath. That sucked.

Jenny tumbled out of an orangey, glowing rectangle and laid flat on her back by the side of the road as the car did its dance of crashy death nearby. Without sitting up or looking she took a packet of Silk Cuts out of her pocket, lit one, and inhaled. She needed it after that. "Bloody hell."

The car came to a stop finally, rather the worse for wear. Robin did not get out of the car. This was because he was too busy hyperventilating and could not bring himself to move.

And there was Sam, still clutching the steering wheel as the car came to a stop and trying to catch his breath.

"I... I... buh..." Amber was breathing hard, grasping the steering wheel. She knew she was alive, she just couldn't form any coherant thoughts or words.

"Oh god, I hate driving," Lee mumbled, still in the car and wondering if he was ever going to be able to remove his hands from the steering wheel.
