Library [Sunday, February 24]

After his player's crappy week spending a lot of time in his room this week, Lee had finally ventured out for his weekly time in the library. He hadn't meant to be reclusive but things happened and naps were becoming a favorite thing of his.

But, he was awake this morning, drinking water and shelving books.

At long last, Doctor Doom emerged from Special Collections. What he learned over the past week would help fortify Latveria against both the demon's influence and, perhaps, any aggressive nations who might be foolish enough to challenge the might of Doom's country. He also did the appropriate research on mysterious and highly experimental (but reasonably 'green') fuel sources for his class project. If he didn't have that, people might be suspicious.

He had to admit some slight concern about the book that hit his Doombot impersonator last Saturday as it left to pose as him. Special Collections was said to have mystical abilities not normally seen in a typical room, so a part of him wondered if anything happened to it. But nobody had come looking for him during the week, so he had to believe that his deception was successful.

"I would be better if you would cease the pleasantries and allow my passage without further questioning," Doom said dismissively.

"Passage out of the library," Doom said, rolling his eyes. "And I believe I requested the end of your prattle. Now unless you have anything substantial, I shall leave."

"Doom has no library books," Doom said. "Your untruths are blatant and pointless."

Doom paused. It certainly was possible that the Doombot could have checked books out. "What books were they?"

"WHAT?" Doom shouted in a tone highly inappropriate for a library. He would gladly deal with whatever punishment would be handed down due to his deception rather than have his name sullied with Why Virginity Matters. "The robot that was posing as me has much to answer for!"

Doom didn't realize how lame that excuse sounded.

Adah surprised herself a little when she got to the door of the library with her lack of pausing before entering and deliberating on whether or not to bother. Really, though, it didn't stand very much to logic, did it, for her to bother coming over here and then changing her mind. Whether or not the Eel would even notice if she didn't (he didn't seem to last week and, at the same time, why should it matter?), she was already there. So she limped in, and, on her way to the desk, pulled an envelope out of the pocket of her dress, holding it up as she leaned a hip against the desk. Addressed to one Rachel Price Axelroot, Johannesburg, South Africa. No stamps, save for the ones Adah had drawn in herself. The simple, standard envelop was practically bulging from the thickness of its content. "There," she announced, by way of greeting, "I did it. Followed your advice and wrote the letter, and I'm destroying it on my way to the clinic once I leave here."

"I hate to admit it," Adah said, slipping it back into her pocket, where it didn't fit, but she didn't seem too concerned about it, "but I think it did. There's a lot of stuff in there," at least two paged dedicated to ranting about him. Three if you include the backwards one. Five if you include the list elaborate ways of seeking revenge, although, really, since she'd used all scientific names, it wasn't quite as lengthy as one might assume. "A lot of good writing. I could make a book out of it, really, so it's kind of a shame that it's just going to turn into a pile of ashes. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust." Tsud ot tsud.

"Wouldn't keeping it negate the whole point of the exercise?" Adah asked, tilting her head. Especially since she couldn't imagine herself wanting to read it, and she wouldn't want anyone else accidentally reading it even more.

"Definitely destroy it," Adah said after a moment of consideration, that only ended up deterring away from the path, into wondering what sort of things it was that he'd write about, whether there was a box here, where he might keep it. "I've made up my mind, and you know how I am once I make up my mind to do something. The world could end, and I'd still insist on getting it done."

"Horrible," Adah answered honestly, sighing slightly as her good shoulder slumped a little bit forward. "Bad dreams again," she added, lifting her eyes steadily toward him, the closest she ever imagined herself getting to mentioning that the worst one involved him. "Made me sick the other day, so I've been resting a lot. Work at the clinic yesterday helped, though, a lot, and so did coming home and writing this." She idly gave the bulge in her pocket a few pats. "How about you?"
