Saturday Morning, Detention--Danger Shop

In a surprisingly neat hand, the following list had been posted to the door:

Vala was grinning as they entered, then locked the door behind them. "Good morning, my minions. Welcome to a life of freedom and debauchery, at least until lunch, when you return to your normal everyday routines, which anywhere other than Fandom would be quite dull."

[ooc: OCD ~~a'comin'~~ is up. Play away! ETA: Oops. So, yeah. I forgot to mention that any tools are fully available and moddable.]

There's a rack against the wall with a full selection of leather pants, skirts, boots, vests, corsets, jackets, etc.

There are no shirts, however, and the really long ones clothes on the end are probably for Chad.

Feel free to get dressed and bitch.

John was a little surprised by Vala's idea of detention as he emerged dressed in leather pants and a leather vest.

"Really? Leather? This stuff is going to chafe."

"You could go without," she told him entirely too cheerfully.

John frowned, "Somehow I don't think I'll get very far in my underwear."

"Maybe you'll start a new fashion trend? That could be fun."

"I think this leather stuff is new enough for one day," John said, tugging on the vest.

"The rest of it should look a bit more familiar." Yes, this was her version of being helpful.

Teyla attempted to put on all of the pants that were left, before discovering that none of them fit her, and she had to settle for a skirt. She looked less than pleased when she came out.

"Problem?" Vala asked, noting the girl's expression.

"These clothes are very...spare," Teyla said. "Can we not wear our own clothing today?"

"Only if they're leather," she shook her head. "Not only is it part of the legend of the space pirate, it's also more protective in certain situations."

Teyla looked down at herself. "I do not feel very protected, but I will trust your judgement."

"Maybe some low-heeled boots would help?" She suggested, understanding the point.

"Must we change?" he asked, sounding faintly... well, it was surprised, at any rate.

"Those are the rules," she nodded, though, really, it wasn't like detention had that many rules.

He nodded dutifully, as he could understand (even appreciate) rules and started looking through the assorted pieces.

"Is there a reason for all the leather?"

"It's more protective in a fight or most weather than wool or cotton or most synthetics, doesn't disintegrate with use, and doesn't snag or leave threads if it's cut," Vala told him. It was also very pretty on most people, but she didn't add that.

"Fair enough," he said, looking for something in black. Brown never really worked as well on him.

They looked rather tight, as if they'd fit right to the skin, but there wasn't anything else that really seemed even around his size.

"And shirts? Or should we leave ours as we are?"

"No shirts, but I guess you can wear yours if you feel you must."

Hey, Chad had done the pirate thing before, and it wasn't like his future career(s) weren't going to be leaving him in probably more embarrassing or even more covering things, so...

He was just glad there was a nice pair of longer pants that fit him nicely, wrapped a cloth around his head, and called it good.

Not even space piracy and weird clothes could phase Karal this morning. He was simply in too good a mood.

Though it was weird to go from robes to leather pants. And no shirt. "I finally understand why Gavin doesn't like leather pants," he muttered as he looked down at himself, then added a vest. "I look like an idiot," he added, but cheerfully.

"It's all in the attitude," she informed him, perched on the table and swinging a foot.

Karal beamed at her. He was just too happy not to. "The leather clothing I'm familiar with is simple and hard wearing and serviceable." He tugged at the vest. "And nowhere near as tight!"

"The tightness is what makes it pirate worthy."

Karal blinked, then looked back down at himself. "Is that why pirates seem so cranky all the time?"

Karal's experience with pirates, it should probably be noted, was limited to his exposure to Barbossa over the radio, and a single commercial.
