Sometime during the night, the dog thing had worn off, and Sam had gone back to being human-shaped. That alone was enough to put him in a good mood as he went to open the library.

Dean had brought two lunches today, the second a backup in case his brother was still doing the doggy look.

Thankfully though there was a very human shaped Sammy sitting at the desk when Dean came in. "Hey," he said happily, sitting in his usual chair. "Lost the tail, huh?"

"Yep," Sam said, looking clearly pleased as he sat down across from Dean. "Thanks for helping to take care of me over the weekend."

"Like I said, it's what I do," Dean said, handing over the bag with soup and sandwiches.

"And you do it well," Sam said. "Aside from taking pictures of me when I can't stop you."

Dean pulled out a couple he'd printed out this morning just in case. "But really, that had to documented. Look." He also put the other bag on the desk. "And I guess you can give this to Scout since you won't be using it."

Sam turned red at the pictures, and focused on peering into the other bag. "Aww, Scout will be very thankful, I'm sure. I don't think I would have been here if I was still a dog. Maybe to make sure no one stole anything..."

"Are you kidding? I fully expected to see you dragging the books over to the shelves in your mouth."

"And I'd get them on the shelves how?"

"I always was expecting to come in before you figured that part out."

Sam laughed. "Big brother to the rescue, as always?"

"Pretty much, yeah." Dean took a bite out of his own sandwich. "Glad you're back to being a sasquatch though."

"Me too. Not being able to talk sucked," Sam said. "The eating was pretty good, although I think I might have to become a vegetarian for a while to balance out all the meat."

"Well, if you don't want your sandwich," Dean said, making as if to reach for it.

"Not now! Later, after I've finished eating," Sam said, pulling himself out of Dean's reach.

"So you're going to become vegetarian but only when you're not eating?" Dean cocked his head at his brother. "Dude, not that I want to encourage you to give up the pleasures of meat, but doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose?"

"I meant I'll go vegetarian after lunch, so you have no excuse to eat my food," Sam replied.

"Not that I ever really need an excuse," Dean said with a smirk. "And you totally owe Karal a thank you for filling in for you with radio."

"So I heard. It sounded like he survived though," Sam said. "I'll definitely have to thank him for putting up with you all night."

"It wasn't all night. He left afterwards to go prove how flexible he is to his girl."

"Somehow, I sincerely doubt that," Sam said. "This is Karal we're talking about."

"You haven't seen him when he talks about her," Dean said. "He's got it bad."

"Yeah, but to someone like Karal, having it bad means kissing on the first date. He's a priest, Dean. He's even more pure than I am."

"It's not like Vkandis asks for celibacy or anything," Dean pointed out. "He's actually very open minded for a god."

That got Sam to break out into a wide grin. "You've been doing your homework."

"Well, yeah. I mean, this is important stuff to know. Because face it, celibacy and all that? Would so be a deal breaker for me."
