"I thought I'd give you all something of a fun class before the mid-term next week," Lulu said. "At each of the stations, you'll find both a typical pizza crust and a loaf of focaccia. Choose one or the other, top as you wish from the ~~fully moddable~~ toppings here at the front of the class, bake them in the already-preheated ovens, and then at the end of the class we'll have a contest for the best-topped flatbread." She grinned, an uncharacteristically wide smile. "Remember that not all pizzas require a tomato-based sauce, so try cream- or oil-based ones if you like. Also, focaccias tend not to have a sauce in the way that pizzas do, although you are free to experiment there if you wish.

"If you're not familiar with either focaccia or pizza, there are handouts at your station as well for you to read before you begin. If any of you have questions or concerns," and here she eyed a few of the students who had been... having difficulties, "please, please approach me."

"I'd like to give you a reminder as well: next week is your mid-term. You will be required to prepare a full meal, three courses -- salad, soup, and entree -- of your choice. You are notpermitted to use recipes directly from this class. The library, I'm sure, has a wide collection of cookbooks, and the internet as well has many resources for recipes. Find them, and then bring them in for next week. I'll be providing the dessert for the meal. Feel free to invite your friends to share in the food -- I imagine that many of them will need the break during the week."

"Oi, you wanna partner up?" Jenny asked the girl.

"Hey, Jenny." Carmela greets her. "Works for me," she replies.

"Excellent. Let's get pizzaing," Jenny suggested. "Or...flatbreading. Whichever."

Liir looked around for anyone who might want to partner up.

Cassandra looked around. Oh, hey, someone she knew! "Hi?"

"Care to team up? I promise we won't fall too far behind, though I'm not used to this sort of food."

Cassandra nodded, then offered, "I've had pizza before."

"As have I," he said with a smile. "Andrew brought me out for some. What kind of pizza do you like?"

Why did Liir insist on asking such tough questions?

"Um... the kind with the... toppings?"

"Which ones?" he prompted brightly. He was in a very good mood, really.

"The... reddish ones? And the dark colored ones?"

Because that was a useful description. Yep.

Mikey bounced and waved at everyone in the room and bounced some more and everything was awesome and they were going to make pizza and that was awesome too hooray hooray hooray!

He was already plotting the toppings. Anchovies and pepperoni and jellybeans and marshmallows and chocolate sauce and four kinds of cheese and olives and dill pickles and did he mention this class was awesome?

It totally was.

[As per the norm, sadly I leave for work in about an hour and will be absent for a good nine hours afterward. But slowplay afterward is shiny, right? It totally is.]

Sam thought that nothing could get him out of his painted-face-funk. And then he saw Mikey bouncing.

"Let me guess. You like pizza?" he asked.

"Dude," Mikey replied, bouncing a little more, "I live on pizza."

This blue guy was a great guesser!

Sam laughed. "It does cover a lot of the basic food groups in a really good-tasting way. What kind of toppings do you like?"

Asking Mikey what kind of toppings he liked was... potential catastrophic.

He got that look in his eye. And that big, stupid smile on his face. And then he leaned forward. And bounced.

"Dude," he whispered, "I like all of them."

Haku looked around the class for a partner, he definitly had some ideas for what to make the pizza with.

Tamaki noticed someone he recognized and zeroed in on Haku, waving with a big grin. "Haku! How about helping out your Host Club King, hm?"

There might have been a slight eyebrow raise at the word 'king', but just smiled. "Of course, did you have anything in mind for what you wanted on the pizza?"

"I believe our pizza should be elegant, like we are!"

...in other words, he really hadn't a clue.

Haku smirked slightly and gave Tamaki and demure nod. "Do you mind if I try something?"

"Not at all, Haku," he proclaimed, sweeping an arm towards the workstations. "After you!"

Chad ~~oh-so-timely~~ glanced around for who to pair up with today.
