Choosing Your Own Government--Monday, Period 5, Class #6--Crime and Punishment
Vala awaited her class in the Danger Shop, where they had been handwavily informed to meet her. Inside was a set up of a dark, dank, but slightly out-of-date prison complex.
"Good afternoon. Now, I know this is a rather extreme way to prove a point, but whether you're a hereditary monarch, acrazy mass-murdering fuckhead future German Chancellor, an opponent of legal racial inequality, or any number of other political prisoners advocating change, chances are you're going to end up in one of these, at least for a little while. So."
"First, I want you all to choose your own cells." She waited until everyone was settled, then closed the doors and locked them with a metallic clang. "Your goal is to get out of here. Period. How do you do that? In each of those cells are thefully moddable resources you need to get out of the cell, or you can do your time to prove a point and wait for them to release you. Either way, but I need a rationale of who you are, and what you're doing there, then how you plan to get out."
"Think of it as an acting exercise, but the goal here is to understand that government has both the power to lock you up, and the power to set you free, whether for a good reason, or no reason at all. Think about that while you work."

During the Lecture
Re: During the Lecture
She didn't protest as she understood what Vala was trying to teach them, but that didn't change the fact her complexion was a bit paler than earlier.

Re: During the Lecture
It didn't really comfort her, and Evey was already starting to feel claustrophobic and sick, her brain frantically attempting to shut off her emotions. She'd dull herself, just for this hour, just as she had for those months and months on end. She could get through one class.
She wasn't afraid to go back in a cell, of course. But it certainly wasn't on her list of things she'd wanted to do when she got up that morning.
Re: During the Lecture
Partway through the lecture, he moved closer and leaned towards her. "Evey?" he said very quietly, not wanting to attract the wrath of Vala.

cellquarters usually had white walls and bolted-down things. Definitely nothing you could pick up, let alone throw or use against someone. Weird government. Must be run by committee or something.Re: During the Lecture
But he'd participate, though he found himself missing Altra even more.

In the Cells
A set of lockpicks and technology are moddable within reason (think your standard prison), as are reasonably intelligent and moddable guards who are subject to bribes and flattery.
Yes, if your character would be able to make explosives from regular household things, that is also an option. That's why they're in the Danger Shop.
Re: In the Cells
So, he fiddled with the lock picks for awhile before attempting wandless magic.
Neither worked.
"Huh."

"Shit."
She looked back at Gwynn. "Got any ideas?"
Because sometimes you just had to enlist the

"My family just can't get away from cages," she muttered as she looked around the things in the cell. "Do they slide the doors open, do they lift, or do they swing like regular doors?"

Re: In the Cells
As usual, he decided against force and went with what he did best: talking his way out of a situation. Unfortunately, a lot of the talking was handwaved since Ferris' player took too damned long to ping back into this class and wasn't about to insist upon the teacher playing it out.

Re: For the Teacher
It was a rather hangdog looking Karal who approached Vala after class.
