Detention, February 9th [Saturday Morning]

When the students arrived for detention, the Danger Shop was set up to look like a picturesque Welsh mountain range, and Bond was looking disgustingly and disturbingly cheerful, almost bouncy in fact.

"Good morning," he greeted them, after taking down their names, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he gestured around the mountainside. "These here are the Brecon Beacons, and you be spending your detention engaged in a hike, along with some obstacle exercises, nothing too taxing." Given that his own experiences with these mountains had involved sleet, rifles, and increasingly loaded-down backpacks at all hours, taxing really was in the eye of the beholder.

"Oh and do try to keep up, it would be...unfortunate if you were to fall behind," Bond added, before starting down the trail at a slow jog.

Follow Bond up hill and down dale not Dale. But be careful not to fall too far behind Bond as it'll start raining once he gets too far ahead*, and the rain and wind will only get worse the further back you get.

Ron marched with the group with a sulky expression on his face. This was hardly "fun" as he was concerned.

He may be plotting revenge against a certain suited professor and a wee pixie.

Lucas jogged along with the group, still not understanding how he'd managed to get detention without doing anything wrong.

Teddy hated running. A lot.

This was why missing gym class all those times was actually kinda nice.

But he kept up. Mostly by virtue of having super strength more than actually being a good runner.

Okay, this part wasn't too bad yet. Not that Brooke had especially signed up for gym class in a weekend. Not that she'd even done anything wrong. She was still a little confused at this whole situation.

This sort of thing was simple enough. Reno was, after all, the fastest Turk.

And a little exercise never hurt anyone. Hell, he was grinning. This beat writing lines on paper any day of the week.

Jenny marched along, wheezing slightly but doing her best to keep up with the group. The long legs probably helped a little. The pack-a-day habit probably didn't.

Obstacle: Rope Ladder - Detention [9-Feb]

After jogging for a while, they came to a rope ladder hanging in a frame, without pause Bond started climbing up the ladder and over the frame.

It was quite obvious he expected them to follow his example.

But Teddy followed, sighing as he went. Stupid rope ladders. Worse than when Iron Lad was training them.

Brooke was ridiculously glad she hadn't worn that skirt like she'd planned. But okay, she could climb a ladder. Weird as it was.

Reno climbed the ladder and started looking around for more. It had been a while since he had a decent workout, really.

A while after they'd left the rope ladder behind, Bond lead them to, then along, a balance beam.

Ron walked across the balance beam, taking it slow and had both arms out to keep his balance.

"Oh you've got to be kidding me," Ron muttered under his breath as he scrambled over a high-beam.

Dropping to his hands and knees, Bond quickly crawled under the network of wires, standing and setting off jogging again as soon as he was through.

There was some low level grumbling from Ron as he crawled under the wires.

Quick as a blink, Bond vaulted over the three chest-high walls. Easy!

Ron was not quick as a blink. In fact he was having trouble climbing over the wall and wondered how much trouble he'd get for summoning his broom.

Obstacle: Pit - Detention [9-Feb]

Of course there was a pit. Looking far too bouncy considering the length of time they'd been running, Bond jumped down into the pit and just as quickly hauled himseld out the other side.

Ron was huffing and puffing at this point. However as he'd served detention with Snape he knew better than to open his mouth and complain if he wanted to end up with more detention.

There were no more obstacles, and they seemed to be on the home strech as Bond lead them down into a small valley, showing absolutely no signs of exhaustion.

Bastard.

Ron was stumbling more than jogging at this point but he wasn't going to stop at this point.

And since Bond wasn't an unnecessarily cruel person, he'd thoughtfully provided a hot, filling lunch for everyone to eat before they staggered off to the rest of their weekend.

... Now I kinda wish I'd signed up Troy for detention this week, because he'd love this. ... I'm not sure what that says about him.
