Driver's Ed [Wednesday, Period Four]

Today the Danger Shop was set up to resemble the streets of Fandom, and while the Bentley was gone again,it was replaced by a number of sporty, little cars in a range of bright cheerful colours parked at the causeway.

"Today we're going to be looking at safety," Bond said, after the class had assembled. "And when all's said and done, it's largely a matter of both using your own common sense, and recognising that you have no guarantees that other drivers are using theirs." He then launched into a short lecture going over the various things a person should or shouldn't do to help ensure their safety.

"Now that the lecture's out of the way, the rest of the class will a practical safety exercise," he continued, gesturing at the Goggomobils. "I want each of you to take one of these, and spend the rest of the lesson driving around this simulation of the town. At the same time. Do try not to crash."

Amber was so excited she was going to get to drive! WooHoo! It didn't matter that the cars were wee tiny. Driving was going to be awesome!

Dawn loved the cars, but remembering the Volvo, she kept looking from them to Sam. Finally, she suggested, "So, are we cutting you off at the knees, or are you driving from the backseat?"

Lee slid into a car and acclimated himself with the controls before starting it up and driving.

Amber picked a cute little car (yeah, they're all little but she felt hers was extra cute!), got behind the wheel and turned it left and right, giggling. Then she began to look over the controls.

"Yah, you betcha this is going to be fun!"

She cranked it up and started off. Slowly. Wayyyyyy slowly.

Since Liz had broken her arm last week she realized that Driver's Ed was going to be a bit difficult until her arm healed. She approached Professor Bond before class, "Excuse me sir?" she said quietly.

OOC - Driver's Ed

Few things to keep in mind.

1) As can be seen in the linked photo, the streets of Fandom are tiny and cramped and only reason that the Goggomobils can (barely) fit on them is because they are also incredibly tiny and wee.

2) Goggomobils have a top speed of about 85 kilometres/53 miles per hour, enough to get yourselves in trouble but not hugely fast.

3) The safety protocols are on, so you can crash (which I highly encourage you to), after which Bond will be there to give helpful advice. However, if you want to crash into another car, please get the other player's OOC okay for it first.

4) Goggomobil is a really fun word to say
