Dawn had woken up soon after Sam had left and had extensive plans to spend more of her Sunday doing homework, assuming she didn't fall asleep on her handouts.

Still, she hadn't been able to stop thinking about what Dean had said two days before, and stopped by with breakfast and coffee for Sam. "Hey."

"Hey," Sam said, smiling at her. "I was hoping you'd come by to keep me from being bored."

"Is that all I am to you?" She teased, putting the J,GoB bag on the desk next to the coffee, "A cure for boredom?"

Normal, normal, normal. Yup.

"You're a very pretty cure?" Sam suggested, taking a sip of coffee.

Just for that, she blew a raspberry at him, leaning forward on both elbows on the desk. "Boy, you're easy."

Sam laughed. "Ssshh, don't say that too loudly. You'll tarnish my good reputation."

"I thought that was my job," she winked at him. "Older woman, leading you down the path to naughtiness."

"Aaah, that's a good point," Sam said. "You're just taking down my innocence one day at a time."

She sighed melodramatically and draped herself over the desk so she could watch him. "It's such a tough job. Woe."

"But you do it so well," Sam said, unable to resist grinning at how Dawn looked draped over the desk. "And I try to make sure you're rewarded for your efforts."

"You do pretty good work yourself," she tried to look at him sultrily, and well, they were in the middle of the library and she was working at it, so it probably wasn't her best effort. "In case you were curious."

It might not have been her best effort, but it was still an effort, and that was enough to get Sam to lean over and kiss her. "That's very good to know."

Hmmm. Bent backwards onto the librarians' desk and being kissed wasn't nearly as uncomfortable as it sounded, as it turned out. Her toes curled inside her shoes. "See, that. You shouldn't ever have to wonder."

"I only wonder a little," Sam said with a smile, before kissing Dawn again.

She clutched his arms for balance. "No wondering at all ever."

"Not even a little?" Sam asked, trying to sound teasing, but not exactly being successful.

"I'm not proving it here," she said, bringing herself upright, then hopping up onto the desk and meeting his eyes with more ease than usual. "But no. Not even a tiny bit."

"Okay, no more wondering then," Sam said, grinning again. "So, how are you feeling? Do you want to share breakfast?"

"Well, since you asked so nicely," she leaned over to kiss him, then dug into the bag. "I brought bagels. One has cream cheese and jelly, the other has egg and cheese, since I didn't know what you wanted."

"I'll take the cream cheese one," he said. "Seriously though, it's really nice of you to come by. You could have slept in more." The fact that he'd noticed she hadn't been sleeping well was something he kept to himself for the moment.

She handed it over, then unwrapped the other one and pulled the egg out, setting it onto the paper before reassembling the sandwich and taking a bite. Then she had a mouthful and couldn't answer right away. "No, I really couldn't have. I guess I'm all slept out."

Sam took his bagel apart and mixed the cream cheese and jelly together a little more before putting it back together. "Are you sure?" he asked. "That you've been getting enough sleep, I mean."

Dawn was absurdly proud as she watched Sam play with his food. Almost as if she'd rubbed off on him somehow.

"Well, I can't sleep, so that must be a sign that I don't need any, right?"

"Or it's a sign that something's wrong," Sam said lightly, licking his fingers.

Dawn, in a move she'd probably be sorry for later, met Sam's eyes and lied straight to his face. "I'm fine. Really."
