Creative Writing :: Class One

"My name is Jenny Schecter, and I'll be teaching your creative writing class this year. Um, I don't really, um, know that much about any of you or what writing levels you all come from, so I think it'd just be easiest if we went around the room and introduced ourselves and maybe said a little about what kind of writing we write. And why we write.

"I'll go first. Um, as I said, my name is Jenny Schecter, and I've had several short stories and a lot of poems published. In my writing, I try to explore the divergence and convergence between life and death, as well as the post-technology depression that seems to pervade society after the end of the twenty-first century, in addition to the social alienation that I'm certain that we all, um, feel in this day and era. Oh, and I write because, um, I think it's really crucial for all of us to understand the excruciating pain that we are all in as we live our passing lives parallel to one another.

"Would anyone else like to volunteer to introduce themselves?"

I'm Justin Taylor. I'm into art, dancing and yeah some singing. My dad kicked me out because I'm gay so me and my best friend moved out here to make it on our own. Bri here believes we can be the best homosexuals ever and make all heterosexuals kiss our dust. *Clears throat. But mostly I'm here to further my educational skills because it is fundamentally important out in the real world to have real knowledge and not fake it like some a-holes. Because, I read somewhere that when you are not true to yourself, you have a tendancy to lie alot and that causes stress. So you see stress is like one of the number one causes that leads to heart attacks and strokes. I'm a artist by nature which means I have to take a more honest approach in life so the flow of my creativity is not blocked. A blocked creativity flow can lead to constipation and since I'm allergic to everything including aspirin, I can't afford to have any bad reactions, ya know? Plus Brian is now my room mate and I can't afford to get cranky due to blocked bowels because he says I'm already full of Sh...um...stuff and so yeah I think you get the picture.

Yes Miss Schecter . Unfortunately though I can not be credited for such information. As such I would hate to mislead you. I read it from one of my Art Magazines. If you want, I can with the help of Brian dig through my stuff back in our dorm and find you the entire article.
