Creative Writing
OOC: See last post for a description of the English classroom and an explanation of how class times & location work out.
Creative Writing :: Class One
"My name is Jenny Schecter, and I'll be teaching your creative writing class this year. Um, I don't really, um, know that much about any of you or what writing levels you all come from, so I think it'd just be easiest if we went around the room and introduced ourselves and maybe said a little about what kind of writing we write. And why we write.
"I'll go first. Um, as I said, my name is Jenny Schecter, and I've had several short stories and a lot of poems published. In my writing, I try to explore the divergence and convergence between life and death, as well as the post-technology depression that seems to pervade society after the end of the twenty-first century, in addition to the social alienation that I'm certain that we all, um, feel in this day and era. Oh, and I write because, um, I think it's really crucial for all of us to understand the excruciating pain that we are all in as we live our passing lives parallel to one another.
"Would anyone else like to volunteer to introduce themselves?"

Um...hi. I'm Rory Gilmore. I write for the newspaper, and I'm editor in chief of the paper...I write letters sometimes, and I keep a journal, but other than that, I don't really do a lot of personal writing. So, I guess I'm here to learn how to better express my own voice, rather than communicate basic ideas for a research paper or something.

Really? That's wonderful. It seems like nowadays, so many people are caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life that, um, they just don't realize that there's so much more to English than communicating mere ideas.

*blink*
That is truly one of the most profound things that I have ever heard anyone say. May I quote you as having said that?
*so, so, so oblivious*

Anyway, from what I conluded in my life so far, a lot of people is just out to get you. Especially if you are different or better from them. So, I firmly believe that achievement is the best way to win. They can just eat your dust, while you are standing on the top of the world. *snickers*

I think it's so wonderful that the two of you are that open about yourselves. The world needs more

"I'm Draco Malfoy. Back at my old school we didn't really have any writing classes, we dealed with magic mostly. But I can think up stories, insults and alibi's on my feet so that's the main reason why I took this class. I'm creative like that."

Hi, erm I'm looking someone to practice to help me practice my magic, since I've never really had anyone to do magic with before, only child, I think and all that. So wonna help me out? *flirty smile*

Nice.
*taps book with his wand and it turns into a rose. He hands it to Paige*
Were your parents magical or are you one of a kind in your family?
no subject
I don't know if my parents were magic or not, I was adopted so never knew my real family, guess I must have got the power from somewhere though, I mean you don't just become magical do you?
no subject
*calls for Draco's book, it disappears and appears in Paige's hand, she smiles and hands it back*

Er, sorry. Old habits die hard and all that. Um, as a Ranger Cadet I didn't have much time to concentrate on writing, but I always thought it'd be interesting to try. So here I am... trying!
