Sneaky Spycraft - Week 4, Period 4

Aly was flipping a lock in her hand as she waited for the class to arrive.  Not that they were doing anything with locks today.  It was just that she'd normally be flipping a knife to pass the time and, well, no knives on school property.

Once everyone was settled and the bell rang, Aly surveyed her students with a grin.

"So, last week we talked about picking locks, and quite of few of you are already quite good at that which definitely warms the cockles of my heart.  This week we're talking about what happens before you make it to the lock picking - and quite a few times after too," she said.  "This would be, of course, avoiding the ways people use to track those who might be breaking into their houses or things."

"Some of you have Criminal Justice, I'm sure, so you're very familiar with the idea of dusting for fingerprints.  Others of you have, you know, watched a police drama so it shouldn't be a surprise.  Fingerprints, stray hairs, motion detectors, dogs - all of these things can be used to catch a spy who's trying to stay far undercover."

Aly raised an eyebrow at the class.  "Okay, who has other techniques people use to protect their things and information.  We're not talking traps so much this time, just other ways to keep people - spies, thieves, you name it - from getting into their belongings.  Anyone come from a world where magic is used?  Special types of locks?  Air-tight vaults?"

Once the students had offered their answers, Aly nodded.  "Sounds good.  Now, if you would, pair up and figure out ways to beat some of these things.  Without alerting the whole neighbourhood that you're around.  So think silent, think sneaky, and think like you only have so long to complete your mission."  She grinned.  "Any questions?"

[OOC:  Yes, there be OCD be up!]

"Fiiiiine. Sheesh. You don't have to get all weird, it was just an idea," she huffed. "You don't see me freaking out about flirting with girl guards."

"I'm NOT getting all weird," Sokka protested. "I just don't do that sort of thing, that's all. YOU should feel free to flirt with whatever girls you want. Especially if I can watch."

"Boys," she complained lightly, grinning so he'd know she was joking. "You're all the same. Give you a pair of pretty girls, and you're happy. Which I guess could be another way of sneaking in somewhere, bribe two girls to distract the boy-guard that you didn't want to flirt with."

"Hey, admit it, you like the boykissy just as much!" Sokka replied, with a wink.

"It's a good plan, though. I'll have to remember that..." He settled into a bit of a reverie imagining two girls kissing in order to distract a Fire Nation guard so he could slip by.

... And was mildly disturbed to realize the girls he was imagining were Rikku and Mel.

"I like all forms of kissy, because everyone should be kissing someone. It would solve so many problems," Dōjima smirked.

"Hey, daydream on your own time, cutie!" she teased, snapping her fingers at him. "How we gonna deal with the traps? You don't really deal with traps just sneaking in and out of clubs, or when slipping out of your room. At least, I hope not."
