Library; Wednesday [ 01/16 ]

Adah Price has a new (new to her, at any rate, because the borrowed copy seemed to have gotten at least a little bit of use at one point in time) medical book, one that was either going to make very little sense to her or would be depressingly familiar and ordinary. She didn't bother considering that it might fall somewhere in the middle. She didn't think it would be possible, all things considered. Either way, there was a new book, so the chances of productivity today were pretty much slim to none.

"That works for me," Adah said, with a light grin. She stretched her neck a little, but, for the most part, just waited, watching the Eel...and his lips...expectantly with a quiet hope in the back of her head that her neck wouldn't chose a really unfortunate time to spasm or something else like that. They had been more unpredictable lately, after all.

"Good," Lee said, leaning a little further over the counter and brushing his lips against hers, softly at first, harder once he'd gotten as comfortable as he could against the counter and was sure he wouldn't be falling over.

And, wouldn't you know, her neck decided to cooperate after all. Shoulders slacking, relaxing as she melted into the kiss, Adah's lips quirked slightly in a grin before pressing back. See? This was nice, getting right to it. She could really use this to her advantage in an example on exactly why he talked far too much, but it would have to wait. There was kissing to be had first. Maybe for a while. Hopefully for a while...As long as the fact that it wasn't exactly the best kissing position, though it was still definitely...definitely nice.

"I'm going to end up just climbing over the counter," he mumbled while he took a breath before pressing closer again, sliding his lips across her softly, lazily.

Any attempt to say something back to him in response was caught up in the continued dragging of kisses, developed no further than a soft hum in her throat. This was followed by rather effectively forgetting that she was going say anything at all in the first place. Stretching up eagerly for more, she felt the slight tingling at the back of her neck, warnings of rebelious muscles, and Adah remembered. "Novel concept," she said, gasping breathlessly. She was reluctant to pull back, even though the distance was minimal, and she opened her eyes to look toward his, as if that connection would back up for her break between their lips, "to just come around, to the other side, you know."

Of course, that did mean breaking the kisses for more than what it took to speak a few words. Which Adah decided she wasn't going to do anymore and she brought her lips back to his again.

All Lee could do was nod in agreement when she kissed him again. He decided that, next time he needed a breath, he was just going to come around that damn desk.

For now though, he moved lazily against her, fingers brushing her ear and back through her hair.

If certain parts of someone could be coy while the rest of that person was not, Adah would think that her lips were doing just that. Loathe as she was to do it, they drew away from the soft lazy kisses, to draw in a breath and let out out, a soft laugh that got lost somewhere in her throat, as she smirked at the complete lack of ability, it would seem, to bother doing something easier if it meant not doing this. Thankfully, the moment of separatist coyness passed and Adah found herself being able to going back to just relishing in the softness of his lips, of his fingers now drawing through her hair. The stretching in her neck was getting worse, but it was worth it.

"You're making it hard for me to come around the counter," he mumbled against her mouth before he kissed each corner lightly. "You make a good argument for staying right here."

"My fault?" Adah, with her breath soft and murmuring with her kisses, did a poor job of sounding even remotely offended. "How is it my fault..." She halted her argument for another slow, dragging kiss; and then one more, "...that maybe you're just too easily convinced? This was your idea, I'll have you know."

"You're distracting me," he told her with a nod. "Distracting me from my long trek behind the counter to get closer to you."

"Should I stop, then?"

Because, really, by now, he should know that she would do it. Well, she would attempt to. In all honesty, Adah started to wonder if she actually would. Being stubborn was one thing. Being selfish was another. She was both. It would all depend on what she was more of.

"Mmm, I don't think I said that," Lee said, looking very thoughtful. "I just said you were distracting."

"Smart ass," Adah muttered, but with a smirk, because that was part of the reason she liked him. And, clearly, the conversation was just going in circles, so she didn't see the point in bothering with it, saying no more and slipping into another kiss.

"Takes one to know one," he managed to mumble before there was more kissing. Lee sighed quietly, brought the hand against her cheek brushing down her neck and shoulder before rubbing one of her arms gently.

Adah found herself reacting vividly, both sound and body, to the traveling touch, melting into the path of his fingers with her own small sigh and the that that she couldn't even be annoyed over it. It was much too nice.

"Ooh, someone liked that," Lee observed, glancing down at his hand and smirking just slightly.

That comment earned the Eel a slight nip at his lower lip. "Oversensitive neurological responses," she reminded him brusquely. "I can't help it."

"You still liked it," he said and laughed quietly. "I can do it again. But not right now. I'll have to surprise you."

Adah wasn't going to bother giving the Eel the satisfaction of telling him that, yes, he was right, and she still liked it. Especially not when she knew the warm blush that she felt spreading through her cheeks was saying it loudly enough. "That's right," she said, as quiet as her smile. "You're never going to get those surprises in if you're going to proposition me all the time."

"Well, I didn't want to surprise too much," he said and kissed her lightly. "At least, not until you knew that I could do this."

"I thought not knowing was the whole point of a surprise," Adah reasoned lightly. "And, besides, it's not like I didn't know."

"Well, walking in here and just kissing you might have really surprised you," Lee said. "But, next time, that might happen."

"Again, the whole point of a surprise..." Adah repeated, although this time with a joking, laughing voice. "I can assure you now, if that's where your concern lies, that I won't mind."

"Well, what if you'd been talking to that librarian guy," Lee said. "And I'd walked right up and kissed you? That would've been awkward for him."

Adah boggled at the Eel for a moment. How long had he known her?

"Which would have magnified the enjoyment of the experience tenfold," she said, slightly gushing with a light shake of her head.
