Library [Saturday]

Her first library shift of the new year, and Mac has a brand new toy to keep her entertained today.

She also has coffee.

Mac is one seriously cheerful geek right about now.

"Here's to the not getting bitten," Mac agreed. "Oh, also you might want to keep an eye on the cafeteria food. I've been told there's people in it."

So, she didn't really believe that one, but she had to continue a tradition. It was what she'd been told on her first day, after all.

Mac shrugged innocently. "I was just told that the food was made of people."

Mac had always felt the same way.

"Why I like being a vegan in a school like this. Not much chance of accidentally eating something icky if you make or buy most of it yourself."

"The common rooms," Mac replied. "They have cookware and stuff in there. What floor are you living on?"

"5th", he answered. "Room 512. Hadn't checked out the common room yet, but I'll go look later."

"They aren't tough to find," Mac said. "Usually packed around this time of year."

"I'm on 4th. 416."

Mac laughed. "I have a roommate. But he's awesome, so as far as I'm concerned... lucky."

"You're on your own then?"

"Oh, I'm not - I'm in with Brooke Davis. But Izzy says she got away without one this year."

"Another newbie?" Mac guessed. "It's actually nice to have someone to share a room with in the start. Helps you settle in. I don't think I'd have liked it much without Syd in the beginning."

"Yeah, I'm a freshman. Just got kind of used to having a space to myself." Such as it was. "But I'll deal."

"Least there's other places to be if I need out of the room."

"Plenty of them," Mac agreed. "Not that I make use of them enough. I seem to spend most of my time holed up in my room."

"Every Saturday." Mac smiled. "But then I hole up in here, which isn't that much better. I don't always do sociable that well."
