Demyx had food, and that made him happy. The white-and-black caught his attention, thouh, and he had to wander over and see what it was. "Oh, good," he said, mostly to himself. "You have better taste than zebra stripes!"

"Zebra stripes?" echoed a bemused Jen -- bemused for more reasons than one, since she was getting yet another slightly unusual reading off this boy and was strongly starting to suspect that there was definitely something wrong with the scanner.

"Yeah. The Superior had this really awful coat that was black and white sorta like zebra stripes." Demyx wrinkled his nose. "It was really bad. But then, so was he." He shrugged. "Anyway, hi, I'm Demyx. Are you new?"

"Just arrived," Jen said, and while the readings were a little bit strange, well . . . so was he. "My name's Jen."

Demyx would say it was from being a Nobody. Who knew for sure, though. "Nice to meet you, Jen. Do you like music?" Because it all came down to that.

That was a question she hadn't been prepared for. "I guess so," Jen said dubiously. "I never really had a lot of time for it."

Demyx stared. "No time for it? Seriously? Even if you just listen to it, you can put something on in the background while you do other things." Obviously, he was pretty passionate about the subject. "Music is life."

"For you, maybe, but I had other things to do," Jen said, not without some regret.

"I'm a musician," Demyx told her; it probably explained everything. "So music really is my life. Well, what life I have. I'm technically dead," he said cheerfully.

Was that why his readings came out so strangely? "Technically?" asked Jen, cautiously.

"Well, yeah. See, I was killed by this kid - he's here too, actually, but it wasn't really his fault because I was on orders to fight him, and it's a crazy thing. Anyway, yeah, I was killed, and then I ended up in this big black space...and then suddenly I was here, and I was enrolled already." Demyx shrugged, looking sheepish. "I don't really understand all of the whys, but I'm not going to argue."
