Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Look! More tables and chairs and food! It's like a miracle!

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP. This is the SECOND post for general mingling. Use this post if your browser can't handle the comment load of the first mingling post. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are here.]

Surely you wouldn't fire your new staff before you even got a chance to try them out?

By this point, Jen using this post 'cause first one causes browser'splodey was hanging back by a tree, looking as inconspicuous as you could possibly look in a somewhat shiny white one-piece jumpsuit, wearing what appeared to be a pair of fairly snazzy Oakley sunglasses.

[OOC: As per this post (http://time-flyer-5.livejournal.com/1152.html), the scanners won't pick anything up unless you specifically tell me it's okay, and to what extent.]

Seregil sampled various of the foodstuffs that were being offered then wandered around, taking it all in.

Sam had some food and a drink, and was at the point where he was just watching people, trying to spot newbies in the crowd.

Isabel was still a bit boggled after talking to Michael, so she got herself another drink and mad her way to the edge of the crowd to try and think.

Now that she'd met a few people, Teyla felt more comfortable in the crowd, and was currently focusing on trying to decide what items on the food table looked the most edible.

Dean came up and stole some chips off Sammy's plate. "So good picnic so far?"

"Those bright orange things on the end are good, if an alarming color," Seregil offered.
likethegun: (i'm smirking at dean)

"So far," Sam replied, putting his hand over his plate. "Have you met any of the newbies yet?"

"A few. Pretty girl named Alex. And my new little sister Jen. You?"

Re: More General Mingling

[identity profile] saltandammo.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Dean wandered through the crowd, making frequent stops at the food table. He'd considered going shirtless to uphold Alec's tradition for him, but he didn't have Alec metabolism and it was a bit too cold for him. But he was trying to make up for it with the flirting.

Yes, Robin had brought his banjo, and was idly strumming it, trying to think of a good welcome to Fandom song.

Demyx was curious about the new people, since new was new and who didn't like new? Well, other than some people who didn't like new because new was change and change was new.

In any case, he was out and about and quite happily hanging around the food tables.

Billy couldn't help but notice the uniform that was vaguely reminiscent of outfits he'd seen back home.

"Hi there. New student?"

dunno if it's something the scanner's would be scanning for, but feel free to pick up the energy signature from his way too advanced fake leg.

[identity profile] kara-kent.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Kara grabbed a soda and took a small sip, walking around, taking in the general weirdness that she was finding out was Fandom High.

Clearly, Clark didn't know this place well if he'd actually considered sending her here to be safe.

It was weird.

But, surprisingly, interesting.

Teyla turned and smiled at the really really hot boy. "I have been trying to stay with foods that I can recognize, but I will trust you on this," she said, picking up some of what he'd suggested.
likethegun: (i'm smirking at dean)

Re: More General Mingling

[personal profile] likethegun 2008-01-04 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"I met a girl named Teyla this morning, and my new little sister Kara, who you are not allowed anywhere near," Sam replied.

[identity profile] saltandammo.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"You must be new because I know I'd've remembered a pretty face like yours," Dean said, smiling at the blonde.

Re: More General Mingling

[identity profile] saltandammo.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm shocked and hurt, Sammy, at your lack of confidence in me."

Re: More General Mingling

[identity profile] kara-kent.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Kara directed her attention at Dean, a soft smile gracing her lips. "Kara," she said confidently as she offered him her hand. "Kara Kent."

Re: More General Mingling

[identity profile] time-flyer-5.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
The visual scanner hadn't picked up much so far, but the girl making her way to the edge of the crowd brought up what looked like a momentary blip of sorts -- not quite an energy fluctuation, not quite a significant DNA irregularity, but certainly enough to get Jen's attention.

She touched the switch behind her ear, retracting the scanner in a way no normal pair of sunglasses would do, and took a closer look.

The girl looked perfectly human . . . maybe the scanner must have gone wonky in the vortex?

[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm operating under the assumption that it's bad manners to poison students before they've even been here a day," Seregil told her.

There was a definite energy reading coming from the boy's leg. Cyborg? Jen wondered, making note of the fact.

"I am," she answered. "Jen Scotts. You new too?"
