Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

"It's an interesting place," Fraser agreed. "Very...different. Where are you from originally?"

[He does, yep! Not too heavy but definitely able to heard]

Richie's eyes went a little unfocused on the question. "Derry. Derry, Maine, but I've been in LA lately." Realizing the probable reason for the question, he facepalmed. "Shit, sorry, was I doing a Voice? I used to do impressions, at my old job, sometimes it just happens," he added with an apologetic grin.

At least he hadn't done the full out mountie Voice. He hoped.

"Quite all right," Fraser said, not thinking too much of the change at the present moment. "What sort of previous job did you have, if I may ask?"

Okay, good, he hadn't offended the head of security. "I was a DJ-- played some songs, did some comedy stuff, it was pretty sweet." With a slight shrug, he continued, "Creative differences and all that, ended up losing the show. But those who aren't doing teach, or something, so I'm here."

Creative differences. He liked that as a euphimism for 'memory loss, which my boss thinks was the result of a coke binge'. Sounded much better.

"And we're happy to have you," Fraser said with a nod. "Before coming here, I was previously in Chicago, acting as the Deputy Liaison Officer to the Canadian consulate. I didn't lose that position so to speak but I did find that I wanted a change. It was either go back to Canada and resume my previous duties as a Mountie or come down here. I chose the latter obviously and I haven't regretted. I hope it works out similarly for you as well. I can promise you won't be bored."

Richie nodded. "That's really encouraging, actually. This sounds like a great place." Checking his watch, Richie made a face. "I'm sorry to run out on you, but I need to figure out some stuff--like where I'm living. But I'll definitely see you around school and town."

((OOC-- Sorry, I'm getting kicked off the computer, didn't want to leave this hanging.))

"Have a pleasant rest of the day, Mr. Tozier," Fraser said with a smile. "I'll definitely be around."

[No worries! Bye!]
