Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[~~WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE.~~ OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

Hey, Alex didn't have any idea that anything was wrong. "Oh, no, I just got here. I'm new, yeah," she nodded. "You?"

"New as well." Makoto said, "And my assigned sibling warned me about gremlins. I'm not quite sure what to think."

"Yeah, I was warned about them as well," Alex nodded. "Me either. I don't know if he was being serious or just joking..."

"Zuko didn't seem like the sort to play a joke like that on me, but he also said other people come from different worlds. It's all very strange." Makoto laughed, "I come from Japan which, while far away, is definitely in this world."

"Huh, really? Well, if that's true, I have yet to meet anyone from a different world," Alex admitted. "Oh, Japan! I've always wanted to visit there. I've from New York. New York City, to be more specific."

"I can show you pictures if you'd like," Makoto offered, slowly feeling more at ease around his roommate. He'd just have to be careful, that's all. Very careful. "I brought quite a few with me. So you're a city girl, then?" Makoto was fine with that. "What do you think of here so far?"

"Oh, that'd be cool, thanks," Alex was excited about that. "A city girl, born and raised," she nodded, chuckling a bit. "It's okay, so far. Not bad."

"Remind me at some point okay? In case I forget. I'm not sure what I think," he said, "but there's no doubt that it'll be better than back home for me."

"I will, sure," she nodded, grinning. Her roommate was cool. "Oh yeah? I think it'll be an experience, that's for sure."

"Oh definitely." Makoto said, "My father and I are having a major disagreement. Hopefully, with me so far away, this will give him time to come to his senses."

Oh, she knew all about having disagreements with fathers. "I'm sure he will," Alex was optimistic.

He liked his roommate, despite the fact that she'd make his life more complicated just by sharing the same room. "I hope so," Makoto was less optimistic about it all things considered, "but I'll just have to see what happens when I graduate." That made him look at his roommate carefully, "What year are you in? I'm a junior."

"Oh, I'm a freshman," Alex admitted. "So I've got a bit of a ways to go," she shrugged.

"And more time to have fun," he said, "which is always a plus of being younger."

"Definitely," Alex nodded, laughing a bit. "I'm looking forward to it."
