Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

"Oh, she's my roommate back at the Agency. Quiet, but she makes wonderful tea." Triela grinned, "I asked her to look after the other girls while I'm here. I'm sure she'll forget."

Triela sounded exciting. "An Agency? You come from far away, Triela?"

"Italy," she explained. "I live in a sort of... orphanage there."

"Italy!" exclaimed Amber, grinning wide. "I've always wanted to go there." But the orphanage sounded sad. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to pry."

Triela laughed, "Parts of Italy are nice, but I tend to prefer Germany whenever I can get assigned up there." She shook her head, "And you're not prying. Though," she leaned forward, "I have to say you're a lot more talkative than my last roommate."

Of course getting Claes to say more than "hey" was always a trial.

"I've never been outside of Minnesota except for my failed jaunt to Alabama and wasn't that a fluke," Amber shook her head, thinking back. "Anyhow, I like to talk. I'm sorry? If I ever get too talkative you can just tell me to be quiet; I won't mind, not one little bit!" Her accent was very twangy, though not hard at all to understand.

"Traveling is fun, actually," Triela offered. "And don't worry about talking too much. It's a nice change of pace. Back home everyone is so quiet." No one can keep up with her.

"Are they quiet because they have to be?" asked Amber.

"Nah," Triela shook her head. "They're just all shy. None of us get out all that much, so we don't get a lot of practice being around people we don't already know."

"Oh, I understand shy. I'm shy myself though it may not sound like it. I'll be careful to mind your privacy, Triela."

"I don't think we'll have a problem. Back home our room was where everyone went when they needed to talk." She shrugged, "I don't have a lot of need for privacy anyway."

"Yay! This is perfect then! I've got lots of stuff to put up on our walls! Or I mean oh my gosh, my side of the room. Posters and ribbons and all my blankets and pillows and I'm excited!"

"As long as I've got space for the Romans, I think we'll be fine," Triela laughed.

"Romans? And oh yes, I won't mess with your side of the room, Triela. I understand the lines of boundries."

Triela looked a little embarrassed, "My bears. It's... a long story."

Teddy bears. How cute. "Well, think I will mingle now, Triela, but I'll see you later, okay?"

"Sure!" Triela laughed, "Tonight if not before, right?"

"Tonight, if not before. I want to try and get at least some of my stuff put away. I hate leaving everything in suitcases and boxes."
