Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

"Ah, there's no need to direct you to him," Fraser said, smiling politely. "He is me. I'm Constable Fraser. A pleasure to meet you."

"Oh, that's convenient," Triela grinned. "I'm Triela, and I'm new here." Her head tilted, "You probably already knew that last part."

"I'd guessed since I hadn't remembered seeing you over the past semester," he answered. "A pleasure to meet you Miss Triela. Welcome to Fandom. Are you a new teacher?"

"No," Triela sighed. "I'm a student. Which isn't too bad, I suppose."

"Ah, my apologies. It's hard to tell who's staff and who's not sometimes," he said. "And I can assure you that being a student here is not bad at all. Did you have any questions? Concerns? Anything I could help you with?"

"I hope so." Triela held up a piece of paper filled with notes that Hillshire had handed her as she boarded the plane. "Hillshire, my handler back home, said I needed to talk to someone about the rules regarding weapons here. Are you the person I need to talk to?"

"Yes," he said, nodding. "What sort of weapon do you carry?"

"I've got a couple. A sub-machine gun," she shifted the oversized art case on her back to illustrate, "A pair of pistols, and a combat knife." Normally she'd hold back one of those, but Hillshire's instructions had been clear.

"All weapons of that sort are to be stored in the weapons locker," Fraser said, giving her the general direction of the locker. "We don't allow weapons on campus but the weapons locker is accessible to all students. The weapons are kept safe and secure."

Triela considered that for a moment then nodded, "That makes sense." And was quite sensible. "There are rules regarding when they can be taken out, I assume? For cleaning and practice?"

"Students have access to their weapons whenever they'd like," he confirmed. "If you actually wanted to use them, we ask that you keep it contained to the gun range for firearms and the salle for blades. Those are open for student access each day, during the day and evening hours."

"That sounds reasonable." Triela grinned suddenly, "Anything else I should know, constable? People to avoid or make sure I meet? Hot stock tips?"

Laughing, Fraser said, "I try and meet everyone so I can't really give advice on who to avoid. And I don't play the stock market either. My best advice would be to relax, explore, know your teachers and school staff and have fun."

"Fun," Triela mused. "What an interesting idea. I think I'll try that."

"Excellent," Fraser said, nodding and smiling. "The staff is always willing th help so please do come find someone if you find yourself in need of any assistance at all."

[identity profile] sorella-vecchia.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thank you, constable." Triela grinned, "Hopefully we'll only run into each other on social occasions from here on out."

Re: Meet Your Teachers (Spring 2008)

[identity profile] just-add-starch.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"I look forward to it," Fraser said, nodding. "Good luck and have a pleasant rest of your day."

Triela drew herself up to attention and grinned impishly, "Yes sir, Constable Fraser, sir." Then she relaxed, "You too. Don't work too hard."

He laughed again and said, "I'll try not to. Thank you kindly."
