Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[~~WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE.~~ OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

"Yes. Prepare myself in case they become permanently attached to my legs," he teased. "Or so I can have a convenient plan to stay out of sight the day you choose."

"I'd find you," Aly promised. "And then you'd have to do it another day too."

He made a face and shook his head. "I know. And I'm going to do it whenever you're ready to actually tell me what I should wear."

"I really think that should be a surprise."

More glaring. "Are you just going to attack me with leather one day?"

Aly burst out laughing at the glares. "...now I am."

Well, that backfired. Fraser frowned and made another face at her. "And what if I refuse to do this? Not run away, just say no."

"I'd lose all my faith in you as an honourable man," Aly said seriously.

...well, she wouldn't, but she thought he might buy it.

"Oh, dear," he said and almost looked scared of that happening. "No, no, I'll do it, most definitely. Of course, I'll do it. Do you need my measurements or anything? I wouldn't want you to get pants that were too small for me."

Aly looked startled for just an instant than reached to pat his shoulder. "I can always just ask Wade for your measurements," she teased.

"...he doesn't know my measurements," Fraser said, frowning again. "Why would you ask Wade?"

"The UST," she said wisely.

And there was more glaring followed by the narrowing of his eyes. "First of all, there's no UST. It doesn't exist. Second of all, even if there was, and there isn't, he still wouldn't know my measurements just by UST, which there isn't any of."

"Wade's a pretty observant man," Aly pointed out, dismissing the protestations about UST as just that much denial. "And while I'm fairly certain I've already figured them out? I'm sure someone who's tackled you and wrestled you has an excellent idea."

She grinned brightly at him.

"You're just evil and mean," he said and glared. "And I have a Christmas present for you and everything. Now, you're just going to get coal."

"Coal?" Aly asked, still grinning. "You got me a diamond? How sweet."

"I took the diamond and gave it to a gremlin," he deadpanned. "Apologies. You just get the coal."

"I'm telling Robin you called her a gremlin," Aly teased back.

"She didn't get a diamond either," Fraser retorted. "The gremlins have more of my heart than she does. It's unexpected, I know."

"As long as she's comfortable sharing her heart with little green men," Aly smirked. "I certainly wouldn't question your private life."

"You wouldn't question it but you would certainly ask about it," he pointed out. "In detail, if you could."

Aly looked remarkably innocent. "Have I?"

"You have," he answered. "Not recently as we've both been busy but you have in the past. And I bet you'd like to ask right now, even."

"Just want to make sure you're happy," she said. "It's a friend's duty, Benton. I'm sure you know that."

"I do know that," he said and smiled. "And I am happy. Thank you for thinking of me. I am. Unexpectedly happy but happy all the same."
