Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[~~WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE.~~ OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

Aly couldn't help but like the day when all the new people arrived. So she mingled. And watched to try to pick out who exactly would cause the most trouble before the end of the day.

"Excuse me," Triela walked up to Aly after ~~handwavily~~ getting a description. "I'm looking for Aly? I'm in her class."

"Are you?" Aly asked, amused at the introduction. "Which new student are you?"

"The Triela one," Triela grinned.

"Pleasure to meet you, Triela," Aly said, grinning back and offering her hand. "I'm Aly as you already know."

It took her a moment to respond. Triela wasn't really used to people offering her hand-shakes. Her grin widened as she gripped Aly's hand. "I thought I should introduce myself." She grinned down at the piece of paper in her other hand, "Hillshire thought so too. He put it on my to-do list."

"I'm always happy to meet students before the first day," she said. "What else is on that to-do list of yours?"

"Meet my roommate, someone named Amber. Meet my 'big sibling', someone named Sora. Store my weapons. Find the dorms." She sighed, "Hillshire is all business all the time. He forgot to put 'have fun' and 'eat' and 'meet new people' on here."

Aly chuckled. "Well, the dorms are right there," she pointed to the buildings beyond the school. And if you have something to eat and meet people, you'll probably run into Amber and Sora while doing it. So you could get everything done at once. Except weapons which go in the weapons locker in the gun range over there."

"I like the way you think," Triela grinned. "With Hillshire everything is so boring. This place might not be so bad after all."

"It grows on you," Aly agreed. "You should enjoy yourself as well as study here. That's the idea."

"That's... different from the way we do things at home," Triela mused. "I think I could get used to it, though."

Aly grinned. "That might just be my own personal philosophy. But you said you were in my class, right? So I can teach it to you."

"I hate you," Kerrigan called, from a distance. "Just so you know."

Aly looked up, just oozing innocence. "Can't imagine why," she remarked.

"Try that on someone who buys it," Kerrigan replied, coming up a little closer. And glaring mildly.

"Your reactions are so much more fun than someone who 'buys it,'" Aly pointed out.

"Did you try that one on the office or did you just bribe them into it?" Kerrigan came to a stop. "I'm not a 'buddy'," she complained. "Especially not to a politician."

"Nah, they leave the list right there on the counter," she said. "And have you met those office workers?" She shrugged. "You can see through him though. Makes him less potentially dangerous than someone else."

"He sounds like a soundbite half the time," Kerrigan snorted, "It's not rocket science."

Aly grinned. "See? That and your reaction makes it worth it."

Kerrigan rolled her eyes. "Real smooth."

"If I was trying to be smooth, I wouldn't have made it so obvious," she pointed out, far too amused with how this was turning out.

"Yeah," Kerrigan agreed, easily, "Stampeding elephants in downtown beat that one for subtlety."

"Good thing too cause wherever would we get elephants?"
