Sam was moving a little slower than normal this morning, thanks to the flag football game yesterday. Of course, the fact that he was carrying a stack of books that was a third of his height might not be helping matters much.

"Oh, definitely." she said. "You can help out if he manages to overtake me. But I doubt that'll happen since I'm so good at beating people up."

"Oh, yeah, you definitely look like a girl with a lot of fighting experience."

"Well I used to be a cheerleader." she said. "You know how notorious for fighting they are."

"That's true. All those brawls over who gets to be on top of the pyramid," Sam teased. "I'm kind of afraid of you now."

"Oh you should be." she said. "You definitely don't want to get on the wrong side of me"

"I'll try to remember that. And I'll make sure Dean does too," Sam said. "I wouldn't want you to have to beat him up if it can be avoided. Unless I'm there to watch."

"I do hate having to resort to violence." she joked. "Unless it's deserved. So it's best that you've been warned."

"I feel safer already." Sam laughed. "I really do appreciate the cookies. Are you going home for Christmas?"

She shook her head. "No, I'm not. I'm kind of trying to avoid my parents truth be told. They aren't too pleased with my choice of colleges to apply to."

"Why not?" Sam asked. "Are they all far away from home?"

"Georgetown's pretty far, yeah. Stanford's at least in the same state as home." she said. "But they're not going to be happy unless I stay in Neptune. Calling them overprotective is getting away lightly."
