Sam was moving a little slower than normal this morning, thanks to the flag football game yesterday. Of course, the fact that he was carrying a stack of books that was a third of his height might not be helping matters much.

Now that his final was over, Sam was able to focus on other things, like checking his e-mail.

Ino showed up, and looked around briefly before heading over to the desk. "Um, hi, I was wondering if you could point me to any books that'd mention what sort of flowers are associated with Christmas?" Pause. "Assuming there are any, of course."

Sam's face lit up, and for a moment, he thought about just telling her all the different Christmas flowers he could think of. But, then he realized how boring that might be for her, and went looking in the computer instead.

"I know we have at least one book about that," he said, grinning when he found what he was looking for. He led Ino back into the stacks, and pulled a book off of the shelf. "Will this do?"

Ino flipped through it, looking delighted, "This'll be great, thanks!" She grinned at him, "My parent's, well, mostly my Mom, own a flowershop back home, so I'm always interested in this sort of stuff."

"That's cool," Sam said, sounding genuinely impressed. "I bet they do a lot of business around the holidays?"

"Do they ever!" She tilted her head, "Though, our holidays are almost completely different. I didn't know Christmas even existed until yesterday."

"Really?" Sam asked, sounding surprised. "Well, if there's anything you want to know about Christmas, I can tell you. Do you have a holiday around this time of year?"

"Weeeell ~~canon's pretty vague~~ we do celebrate New Year's, which is fun," Ino nodded, tucking a strand of blue hair behind one ear, "but nothing that sounds like this. Annette told me it was a religious thing but then said not everyone celebrated it that way, so I'm pretty confused."

Peter came in with coffee and donuts. He went up to the counter, leaned against it, and smiled. "So... nice football game."

Yeah he wasn't even going to bother with hello when he had this much material to work with.

Sam gave Peter a curious look. "I don't suppose I could bribe you into a change in the topic of conversation?" he asked.

"I am so glad I got there early to get a good seat," Peter said, by way of a reply.

"Define 'good seat,'" Sam said.

"Did I ever tell you that my phone takes pictures?"

"No, I don't think you did," Sam said pitifully. "You didn't take any, did you?"

"That is a fascinating question," Peter said. He answered it by taking a lazy sip of his coffee.

"Peter," Sam whined. "What did you take pictures of?"

"You know," Peter said, "I can't help but feel like you aren't encouraging me in my attempts to show school spirit and support to my friend."

"Does showing school spirit involve taking pictures of me getting knocked on my ass by Dean?"

"Funny you should mention it," Peter said. "There might be some overlap there, yeah."

"Can I see the pictures?" Sam asked.

"What pictures?" Peter asked, blinking innocently.

Sam sighed. "If, hypothetically, you took pictures, could I see them?"

"I am hypothetically bewildered as to why said hypothetical pictures would be so hypothetically important to you," Peter replied.

"Gee, I don't know. Maybe because they hypothetically show me looking like an idiot?" Sam replied.

"Ah, they just hypothetically show you being a little brother," Peter said. He offered Sam one of his donuts. "Happens with me and Nathan all the time."
