"I trust you all completed your childcare assignments to my satisfaction," Anakin said from his position behind his desk.

Why yes, he was going to blow right past the part where he'd been an action figure last week.

"Today you will tell me--in detail--what you learned from your experiences with parenthood. Next week will be your final exam. I'll try not to kill you."

He could be joking. With Anakin it was really hard to tell.

River beamed back at him and clutched the droid baby. From looking at her one might get the idea that she actually liked it, not that her happiness stemmed from the opportunity to let her beloved Adah murder it.

Anakin grinned and reached out to ruffle her hair playfully.

"I like to see you happy."
