Library [11/15]

Thursday arrived early again on Thursday, setting Friday up in her office. After yesterday's news, she was more than concerned and kept checking on Friday more than was really necessary. She broke from the usual library rules today by making sure there was plenty of coffee, other drinks and food to go around for anyone who wanted to stop by.

Well.

That was an encouraging noise.

Cable looked up from where he was sitting, regarding Peter with some level of determined curiosity. "'Huh'?" he asked.

"Just a fairly random thought, probably nothing," Peter said. "But pretty much every building on the island is really old. Back home you hear about things like asbestos being all over old buildings and people getting sick from that at least once every year or two. Maybe it's something like that. A magical asbestos or something."

"'Magical asbestos'." A mild bit skeptical there, at first. Raised eyebrows, dry expression and all.

Then again, he knew crazy things. And obvious things that were hard to find. Any hunch was worth following, at this point. "This school blew up." He'd heard that much on the radio.

"Yeah, it did. In a giant fireball of school," Peter said. "We have a locker that's like a black hole. We have a section here in the library that can actually kinda possess people. When the school blew up, who knows what kind of nutty things might have been spread around the island?"

It was nice to know these kind of things about your new place of residence.

Several years around Deadpool made his mind offer him a most bizarre tangent to go on. He had to blink to rid himself of it.

On the outside, Cable just looked at him. "We'll have to check the records." Because this was so totally his research team. Hadn't you gotten the memo?

"You know, I really didn't expect to spend the day looking up zoning codes and stuff like that, but if that gives us what we need, I'll be giddy," Peter said.

"Giddy-up," Cable deadpanned, then got up out of his seat.

"Giddy-up?" Peter asked when he was pretty sure Cable was out of earshot. 'Giddy-up' had never sounded quite so weird to him as it did coming from that guy.
