Alternative Tactics, Wednesday Period One, 14/11

Lieutenant Sarah Kerrigan wasn't looking too hot today.

Which would be code for 'pale, glazed eyes, and sweat soaking clothes and hair alike'. With the occasional lean towards 'stumbling'.

"Today's supposed to be your exam, kids," she said, keeping her limbs as straight as they could, "A bunch of you are sick, which means you're not gonna be here to hear me tell you you'll get a make-up exam sometime when you're not sweating liquid death out your pores. The rest of you, we're squaring off against each other today. Pick a partner and a suit and let's exercise some tactics. You get your choice in assault types for this one; pick a Firebat suit for close combat flamethrowing, a stealth suit for sniping action, or be boring and grab the Marine suit with the big gun."

She activated the sim, then wobbled to her desk.

If anyone asked, she was just stalking off. Really.

[ wait for the ocd up! ]

"You're such a frakking hard ass," Lee snapped, hands going out in case she fell. "You're not going anywhere to the clinic and I will drag you bodily there even if you give me a concussion during the trip. You're no good to anyone right now including yourself. Let. Me. Help."

"Graceful," Lee muttered, shaking his head and stepping a little closer. "Let's go to the clinic. Please. I'll tell people that you beat me up before I wore you down."

"Yeah, I know, it's not about my good looks," he said, stepping closer, confident in the fact that, if she took a swing, it wouldn't hurt that badly.

Maybe a bruise. Or a hairline fracture.

"Listen. We're going to the clinic. Right now. And I have to touch you to do that. Please try and not snap my neck."

"You are," he said and reached for her wrist, keeping his grip light. "See, look, we're doing fine so far. Now, I'm not as tall as you but arm around my shoulder and I can take most of your weight, okay?"

And then he did just that, slowly sliding that arm around his shoulders, careful not to make any sudden moves that might result in a suddenly dislocated elbow.

"I won't say anything," he promised quietly. "You have my word."

"I will," Lee said and made sure the hallways were clear before he started walking them slowly towards town hall.
