It was chilly outside.

To a girl who was raised in a lab and has never been outside for more than twenty minuets before coming to Fandom? It is downright freezing.

Therefore, it was a bundled-up and miserable-looking Anemone that opened the library right on time, thermos of hot coco held tightly to ward off the evils of the weather.

Bart pouted a little. "Riding would have been awesome though! And you could have worn cowboy hats and tied people up with rope!"

"...I want a cowboy hat!" Anemone clapped her hands happily. "Next year I'll be a cowboy for Halloween, and we can try and lasso Gulliver! Or tie up people who don't give good treats!"

"He'd be pretty easy to lasso," Bart told her, scratching Gulliver behind the ear type thing. "Just pet him and he'll stay still!"

"True." The evil glint of plotting began to shimmer in her eyes. "But we have so many classmates to practice on...be a shame to waste them."

Bart looked confused for point five seconds before his eyes widened and mouth formed a small 'O' of surprise. "We could!"

"We could!" she agreed. "What's the pranking holiday? Ides of March? We could totally get away with it."

Bart gasped. "We can't stab people!!!"

"There's a stabbing holiday?!?" If possible, Anemone looks even more excited. "I thought it was the pranking holiday. Fooling? Something like that. It's in the Spring, I know that."

"I can't believe there's a stabbing holiday. This era is strange. Cool, but strange."

"That's April Fool's!" Bart flailed. "No stabbing!"

"No stabbing on April Fool's, got it. Unless it's one of those fake knives, the ones that the blade retracts into the handle? That would be a really good prank." Anemone beamed at Bart angelically. "Don't worry, I'm not going to stab anyone. Well, I'm not planning on stabbing anyone, anyway."

Which was good. As Bart was honor bound as the next Flash to fight crime.

"Good!" He nodded seriously. Then bounced again. "Does that mean we get to ride ostriches?"

Anemone's never tried to kill anyone that didn't do something to deserve it, so she doesn't exactly view stabbing as a crime.

"I guess so, if we can find some and they don't mind trading rides for treats. Mine went away." She pouted. "He was a nice sweet birdie, and I left him in the library with more donuts for snackies, and the next day he was gone. It was when there were all the other animals running around, so maybe he went home with them. I wanted him to stay."

Bart pouted. "Think he'll come back to visit?"

"Maybe..." Anemone stopped to think about it. "I don't rule anything out. I don't know where he came from, so I can't ask him back for another visit."

"Think we could catch one of the deer in the Preserve? It's not an ostrich, but it might still be fun."

Bart blinked. "There are deer there?"

He wasn't much of a talker and therefore very few teal deer approached him.

"I think so. I've seen something moving out there when I'm climbing trees, so I certainly hope it's deer and not, um, giant carnivorous bunnies or something like that. Although we could try and lasso those, too."

Anemone grinned and shook her head. "And now that I've said that, they'll turn out to be giant bunnies. That's the way this place works."

"Can we ride giant bunnies?!"

"YES!" She bounced happily. "They'll be nice and fuzzy, and we can hold on to their ears."

"And I can keep one as a pet and it can play with Gulliver!" Oh, if only there were giant bunnies.

"We could keep them in the stables, if they aren't too afraid of horses!" As far as Anemone is concerned, there might actually be giant bunnies on the island. "That would be so neat."

"But they would be so muchh cooler than the horse and we could take them out for ridesanditwouldbesomuchcoolerthantheostrichesbecausethey'rebunniesonlyGIANT!"

Bart was a wee bit excited.

"Yeah!" she laughed, clapping. "I so want giant bunnies now. Or giant Gullivers. An army of giant Gullivers, marching down the street to conquer the evil jam monsters!"

"Yes!" Bart pumped his fists in the air.

"...what flavor?"

Jam? Gulliver's head perked up. He liked Jam. Could it be Jam tiem nau plz?

"He'll go to war for any jam, but strawberry is definitely his favorite." Anemone scritched her panduppy behind the ears and cooed at him. "That's right, he's my jam-warrior."

Bart looked thoughtful for a moment. "Strawberry jam is very good."
