It was chilly outside.

To a girl who was raised in a lab and has never been outside for more than twenty minuets before coming to Fandom? It is downright freezing.

Therefore, it was a bundled-up and miserable-looking Anemone that opened the library right on time, thermos of hot coco held tightly to ward off the evils of the weather.

Still shivering a bit, Anemone's checking-in books at the circulation desk.

Know what goes really well with hot coco? Chocolate! Yay for leftover Halloween candy!

Anemone's still at the Circulation desk, reviewing her notes from Sex Ed. Miss Lulu teaches the best classes ever.

As usual, there's a panduppy peering at her bento box with greedy intent gleaming in his wee little eyes.

It's lunch time, and the library is closed unless you're an aide or the Librarian.

She's beating her head against the desk, trying to come up with a topic for her Communications homework. Stupid public speaking.

Anemone's off in the stacks, cleaning and tidying before the end of the day. There's a Gulliver at the front desk, or you can just holler if you need help.

WTF?!?! It's SNOWING. This is so not cool.

It's 67 in the office here. 67.

I may have to avail myself of the space heater.

They keep my building at 62 year-round. 62. I have no sympathy, as 67 sounds positively tropical.

I'm in the aquarium-lookin part with all the glass. It gets up to 85 so sayeth the thermo-meter here (it's much fancier than a thermometer) in the summer, and now it's currently at 67 and laughing at me. And also on the wrong time. Hrmph.

If it's on the wrong time, you have an excuse to beat it into submission. And maybe raise the temp a bit when no one is looking.

I'm sitting here watching the river ice-over from my window. This is frickin' depressing.

D00d. Take pics. Wow and woe.

I think it's time to take down the fan over here and post up the space heater. Grrr and brrr!

PANDUPPY. Bart? ALL OVER THAT.

"HiGulliver!Where'sAnemone?"

OOOOooooooo! FastHappyBoy! Gulliver burbled happily and wiggled his nose at Bart.

His Girl? Gulliver blinked and looked off down the row he'd seen her vanish into. Oh, she's that way. But Bart wants to pet Gulliver first, right? Right?

Of course he did! Bart glanced around, but not seeing Anemone, his attention went back to Gulliver. Giving him a half hug, half petting tackle, Bart was effectively distracted from just about everything.

Like a goldfish on crack.

Gulliver's happy purring indicated just how pleased he was to subvert the attentions of FastHappyBoy. FastHappyBoy always gave good pettings.

Anemone finally emerged from the shelves with an armload of books, grinning when she noticed the boy/panduppy tackle-pile. "Hey Bart!"

Someday Bart too would have a panduppy. Someday...

"Hi Anemone!" Bart greeted cheerfully. And at a normal speed. Having to slow down for petting slowed everything down with it.

"Looks like you found your fan club," she teased, setting the books on the counter. "Gulliver isn't being a bully, is he? He can be rather pushy about pettings."

Robin was from Florida. And when he wasn't there he was in Southern California. He too was bundled up, in a wee tiny blue parka.

"Hi Anenome!"

Bart just laughed, rubbing Gulliver's head. "Nah, he's fun!"

"Hi sweet-Robin!" Anemone flipped her notebook closed and smiled at him. "I'm guessing you aren't used to this weather either, huh?"

"No the two places I spend most of my time are pretty warm. I don't mind it as long as I've got my parka though."

"Cool. So, what can I do for you then? Or did you just come to steal Gulliver's affections?" Anemone hopped up to sit on the desk, feet swinging. "Oh! Or did you decide to come entertain us? Gulliver and I don't get many visitors, although we did have an ostrich a few weeks ago."

"I'll need to find a little scarf and mittens for Gulliver at this rate. Have you ever seen snow? People have been telling me about snow, but I can't tell if they're teasing or serious." Anemone wrinkled her nose unhappily. "I don't like the idea of three months of cold and snow."

"I have." Robin nodded. It's a lot of fun actually, as long as you can come back in where it's warm."
